Spent a week in Butlins when kids were younger. Beach is locked between 8pm and 9am!! had to take up smoking, drinking cans of lager at 10am and wearing shell suits to fit. Luckily I gave up the smoking!

Weekend sounds a cool idea though. May involve a lot of jobs around the house before I even ask tho!

Oh my GOD !!! Slack Alice are they still going ? I saw them in what I think must have been 1972, I would have been 15 years old then !!!! Think they had just won a big Melody Maker ...... band of the year type contest ...... prize was a full Marshall back line and PA. They appeared at a local venue here in Nuneaton. A youth club !!! Brings back some memories ........ ah the days of my youth, where did they go ?

Other bands to appear there ....... only a few of you oldies may remember these ......

Henry Cow.
Ellis ....... including Zoot Money on keyboards.
Fruup.
Gong.
Darryl Ways Wolf
Gentle Giant.
Budgie ......... what a live band they were !!
Hatfield and the North
Flash ...... with PETE BANKS the ex YES guitarist.

to name just a few

arrr accrington now there's a place!

a car turned up while we were working it was a yank thing like a chevvy camaro? or something and its reg was "voodoo" abait made from similar letters and numbers as they are. but cool all the same and the guy that got out had rock 'n' roll stamped all over him.

was it accrington then?? the current bass player in slack alice is my ex-bass from astound (whom i fired for being a c0ck) and has nothing cool about him; so i guess it wasnt him.
