cheers for the kind words to rob! it would be so cool if some others would join in on jams as well, you know you don't have to be an incredible player to join in. Just get in on the act and play something, nobody is going to flame anybody or take the piss or anything. I know it takes guts to be able to post up your playing but once you have tried it the flood gates up open up and you want to put everything you play up just ask farley.

Too true, I posted nothing for the first 9 months and now, I can't wait for my next chance! and its true, as I have now proved on many occasions! you don't have to be great, just jump in and post something. All I have ever had is kind words and encouragement. Have to agree with rlee, this site just is the best!

Hi guys I have to say that this jam sounds so f'in cool. Couple of criticisms though.

The backing track appears to have been lost in the mix on a couple of bits. Zombo, I know you had that great key change to throw some dynamics into the start of the solo, and what a solo :wnw: but the backing track has all but disappeared. I think that has then lead rlee into staying at the same levels.

Great playing from all you guys though. Yep, even you Farl 8) :D

I would love to have a go at remixing it a bit though, if you have your solos on seperate tracks, could I please have a go ? I would really like to and think it would be good experience to do it too. Let me know what you think and I'll let you have my email addy so that you can send your solos.

Tony, I have only had one solo so far so the mixing might be a slow process. What I would suggest is that you record your "new" solo at the same point in track as your first one then let me have that solo on it's own as mp3, wma or whatever and I'll paste it back into the mix.

Thanks mate; sorry I must have missed your earlier post. I thought it sounded pretty cool myself, did it deliberately "laid back" in order to "contrast" with Tony's manic, but very good, shred. A sort of "light and shade" approach ....... Thanks for your comments, it's a real incentive when you get the positive comments. I know my style and approach isn't to everyone's taste but I do think that I have a certain amount of "feeling" in my playing which I hope comes through in these Jams. I do wish more of the guys would have a go at these Jams, especially some of our younger more "shred" players, I think it would broaden their horizons a bit. Zombo's stuff on this is a perfect example here, showing that you can burn up the fretboard but still introduce passages that have a that blues "feeling and soul" underlying it. I like yourself I guess, learned what I know by doing just what we do here, jamming with those MAN tracks that we were talking about. It gives you the freedom that, I think, all guitarists need in order to be spontaneous and versatile.

Oops, going to stop there, I can feel this turning into another ramble ......... and this thread really isn't for that. I might start another one to see if we can get some of the younger lads to have a go eh ?

One poiint here is that we weren't asking or telling you to do it Shep, you wanted too. I personally want to hear you play and think the process will give you a bit more confidence jammimg around with things.

I think that is probably enough said on the matter. Just dont let us or yourself down again Shep. We all like having you here and it's a shame when this type of thing happens.

So keep playing and enjoy yourself. Just dont commit if you cant do it.
