Yeah dude, what about the shoutbox?

and this function to see who's in the jam room on top of the page would be fine, too

/and some users seem to have problems with logging in, getting logged out at random etc.

The section to add a 'bio' to members is very short.... Perhaps this could be made longer to advantage the site?

should be ok to do.

Rick, I saw in the forum a while ago that you were thinking of doing T shirts. If that has come to nothing get in touch as my bro does shirts for clubs and pubs etc (screen prints or embroidered) and can get you good quality shirts for much cheapness, I would make him give you the family discount. Obviously I dont want to step on anyone in here if you have something fixed up, but I think it would be a good fund raiser for the site. cheers and well done this site is great.

I have been getting this message all day, different names, differnt times, but i see a name that is said to be in chat, and I go in chat and they leave RIGHT then, and when I leave, my name stays in there no matter how many times I refresh.

I assume this hasnt been discussed, but surely there is a way to fix that lol coz frankly it drives me bonkers hahaha

other than this man, I have no complaints, this is the best site ive seen since guitarbattle.com lol

in my experience, tis better to have the people just freestyle this, those types of groups or pages hardly get used after a time, then on the other hand, this site tends to break some of the molds ive seen out there, kudos, and maybe it will hitch up good.

I know id like some lessons lol

The issue with users showing up in the jamroom afetr they have left seems to be a bug in the integration between Flachchat and the BB. If you log out of the jamroom by pressing the red button in the top right corner of the jamroom window it works okay, try it and let me know.

technically it's user error, though some may say it's a flashchat 'issue' - it happens because you are not actually logging out of flashchat, but just closing the browser. Always log out using the red (top right) logout button. If you just close the browser then flashchat will try and run a pop-up to log you out - but browsers other than IE (such as firefox) block this.

copied from the thread by the coder, i'm now sure anything was ever done to repair this issue as we are running the latest version

Rick

technically it's user error,

i love that quote!
anyway rule of thumb allow popups on 6stringheaven and it should fix it at least for those who do that.

I'll edit the login message to tell people to log out before they close the browser.

maybe one day they will fix it.

I wish there were a more definitive guide for the vBux and how they work, like for instance, if you have more rep points or post amounts, does your interest go up? what are the most advantages you can have to increase your intake of interest and vBux, what do rep points do if not that?ive looked online to find info but its always someone elses forum, and they have them set up differently.

ZappaFan

We dont utilise the vbux system to it's full potential right now but it will be something we will look at in the future.

The basic system as it works right now has the following features as far as I can tell :-

gives points per character within a post
gives points per new thread.
allows you to buy gifts and ribbons.
pays each user a salary based on a predetermined percentage provided that they have been active within the last seven days.
pays interest on the amount you currently have banked ( as far as i know this is not effected by rep points or number of posts)
allows you to buy tickets for both the daily and weekly lotteries
allows you to buy options to customise your "image" on the forum, ie., username colour, shadow, etc
allows you to charge for the download of any attachments you post

thats about it as far as i know

petruccis_shadow
12-11-2006, 09:12 AM

Indeed, it's a way of stopping people joining up and leeching files off the site.

petruccis_shadow

kaz
22-11-2006, 08:25 PM
when you add an attachment you can add a charge to download it.
it makes me laugh to be honest, vbux are worthless, they are given for free if you ask we'll even donate tons of em but people fight to keep them like they are real cash :-D
i uploaded a ringtone for 5 vbux and somebody attached it later on in the thread for free, i had to laugh. then i banned his ass

Here it is my useless insight to vbux and some uses that will make it a worthwhile thing

1. charge vbux to enter your song in a challenge and then the winner gets to keep the vbux from entry fees
2. charge vbux to download from a backing track section and charge a hefty amount that will keep out the non participating members and make them get with the program
3. pay members more for posts and thread starts
4. pay vbux for referals that post a minimum 100 posts and increment that if desired
5. charge Zombo a daily fee just because..LOL
6. penalty vbux fee for lame LOL,IMAO etc.... darn that could cost me..LOL
7. vbux paid for best thread of the month and have that voted
8. vbux penalty fee for not posting...upon some members return they might regret it though

Just some ideas....and I never said they were good:grin:

well in the Zoints thingy the page is already maximised so is it a max size of file that is the problem ro is it my internet explorer possibly?

I noticed you have subforums for sharing patches for multifx.
Could you add one for Zoom devices?
They're not very popular, but I'm willing to post the patches for my G9.2tt.
There may be some other users of G7.1ut and G9.2tt units who may wish to share theirs aswell.

we could probably make an "all others" section.

all you need to do is supply me or zappafan with the file extension.

Okay... The extension is ".xex"
It's just an XML-style file.
Another way to export is via the clipboard. In that case it's enough to just post it as text directly onto the forum. Another user can then just select it, copy it, and paste it back into the patch editor.

ZappaFan
03-03-2007, 12:05 AM
HI Scali, how big are these .xex files ? I'll create an area for them once I know.

Scali
03-03-2007, 12:21 AM
It can vary a bit... a complete patch set (100 patches) is about 680 kb.
But you can create your own patch-sets to export, so they can be as small as 1 patch.
So I suppose they'll usually be much smaller...
On the other hand, since it's XML, it compresses well... When zipped, it's only 26 kb.

ZappaFan
03-03-2007, 12:25 AM
Okay I'll sort it straight away.

I have added the xex extension and created a new section called other pedals. Please make sure that you indicate what pedals your uploads are for so that it is clear to the other members.

Cheers.
