Ive also redone the guitar solo, it was much too distorted on the other one.

Sheppy I thought that was a most excellent attempt at a very hard song my respects to you I thought the solo was superb! There was a bit missing in between some of the verses but don't forget Shep is 13 and a killer guitar player I am proud of you Carlton!
As regards Chris well what can you say this time Goliath beat David !!

voted for wahwah as I felt this was flawless. I have said it before Shep I am blown away by your playing and wish I could turn the clock back and started playing younger and had the internet 20yrs ago!

Wow this is a toughie. But I am going to have to go with Chris's effort here though it is a close thing. The main reason is the fluency in the playing. Shep's is a fine effort but some of the passages are just a bit too "staccato". That probably comes from concentrating too hard on getting it right rather than letting it flow. Great efforts from both of you though.

I think I'll give this to Shep, I can't always go with the majority as I do enjoy a good flaming session.. :) I'm giving my vote to Shep because Chris is damn near a Pro and given that Shep is only 13 he's comparatively (relatively) on a par (a kind of handicap if you will) and he gets points for sheer ballsyness lol :D Great work all round, I'm a fan of WahWah (Chris) so theres no reason to think there is any favoritism going on.. PS in regards to something completely un-related.. Shep can you make the cheque out to cash matey!
Shep you do need to do a heap of work on this to get it sounding how it should tho buddy although parts of it were pretty good I must say. Change that heavily distorted tone a little too bro, try and make it sound a little less overpowering.

Shep, I had no idea you were 13 mate. Your track is very, very good-I couldn't play the stuff you're playing until I was 20 at least. You have a great future ahead of you! Well done! :thumb:

first off Chris, that is an outstanding track welldone, shep hold your head up high that was outstanding as well. My vote goes to Shep because for his age that is impressive (sorry chris)

Ya I'm with Tomahawk and Big Doug on this one Chris even though technically yours had a better flow but at 13yrs old the young lad has got some outstanding talent and that really impresses me. You got my vote Shep remarkable! I wouldn't have the balls to go up against you Chris you did knock me out with yours :thumb:

Damn! I am torn!! They are both so much better than I could do but.... mustn't provarocate. I was going to go for Shep mainly because it is one of my fave satch songs (only a newby to satch though!) and because of the skill showed for one so flippin' young! But... It's Wahwah Chris that I've gone for (after 48 hours or so of considering!) because it is just so damned good! :thumb: and thats pureley what I am voting on.

I get this all the time on G101 Zomb...we're doing a UK vs USA thing and this morning 23 people had downloaded it but only ONE had replied. No point getting upset; a lot more take than give and that's a fact of life mate. :thumb:

Bud you can't count it by views you have to count it by posts and at any rate yes people need to vote!! Do it now!! Don't think about it, do it!! If you were competing you'd want voters so vote!!
Shep it may be that some peple have listened several times rather than save and therefore it appears as more hits but still there are those not voting which is a shame.

Nah, don't be daft...my point is that by the time this is finished shepstar will be 28! :)
I've voted wahwah simply because it's the better of the two, however, I must give full credit to the young fella for an incredible piece of playing.
Incidentally wahwah, if tone is in your fingers then I need a new set of fingers, mine sound more like alder than basswood...lol

You guys unbelievable! As a bedroom guitarist at best - just blown away! Close deal - chose WahWah just on eyes closed listening to songs (neither of which I'm familiar with) - just can't believe the playing. How on earth shep can you play like that and be only 13 - you're amazing dude.
I'll go back and try & break out of that pentatonic box!

Thanks mate...it's much appreciated and I'm sure shep feels the same way. The only outcome of this battle after two weeks is that shep is an amazing talent for 13 years old and we're all paving the way for him to be something HUGE. Some have voted for age over youth and some for the sheer balls and talent of a young guy. Gotta say, I would never have believed that I was battling someone so young (and I teach young guys at local schools).
However it ends (in 4 months!?!?!?!?), it's given shep some kudos and let an auld git like me spout off!!!!!

To those members who have viewed this thread listened to the tracks and not voted, shame on you !!! I will be checking the logs on this one and publicly shaming those who couldn't be bothered to vote. After these guys went to the trouble of recording these tracks they at least deserve soem support.

Well done, great efforts from you both, but experience counts for a lot. Unfortunately in these things there has to be a winner, and that is the awesome Wah-Wah. The prize ..... nothin', not a suasage, just the kudos that goes with being a winner. To the loser ....... the opportunity to go away practice some more, the come back some time in the future and whoop that Wah-Wah good and proper. I am sure he's going to get there too. Well done guys. Great playing and all in good spirit too.

Wow! I entered the comp when I was 20 and shep was only 3...and now I'm 43!!! Shep, you did the business mate. 10 - 8 is a bloody close call and I think you have an AWESOME future ahead of you my friend. Listen to EVERYTHING, don't judge it by what you THINK it will be and take ALL you can from it. I look forward to the day very soon when I can say, "I battled against that lad when he was 13 and now he's in ~~~insert band~~~"! It WILL happen of that I'm sure. :thumb:
