a question about guitarists

I was just on another forum and saw a question that pops up from time to time and for once decided to try to answer it and man it was hard.

question is simple who are your fave top 10 guitarists
everybody started with the usual evh, srv etc somebody even said eric clapton :o all a bit sheep like the answers really.
im going to go away and think of an answer before i post my top 10

since the burning organ cd paul gilbert has to be #1
and i'll think of the rest later, hmm difficult lots of really good constantly mentioned players are sometimes clones of others and maybe don't really deserve to be there.
im gonna rattle some feathers here, but i won't be adding vai or satriani good as they are!

anyway over to you maybe i'll learn somemore good guys to listen to.
i can't wait for khaos's post on this he knows some really choice players.
