when i started to play guitar all 5 or 6 years ago, all i wanted to do was play this.

I still not there!
but im pretty close, its bloody hard to play.

i have 2 weak really areas,
the legato part and the section before the tapping, anybody that has had a go at this will know exactly what i mean!

this was the second take and has a few more fookups in it, however take 1 had a super massive one where i landed totally in the wrong key for the tapping run so i had to redo because its a such a major part.

the odd accidentally clipped A's were genuine mistakes though and i didn;t do them first time round

one day i'll nail it!

by the way rlee111 this tokai is a rocker!!!!

hm... its good, but i have to say, i think u played better "before" like 3-4 months ago..... this one has so many bad notes, some parts are hard to make out, before its was better.

Thou, its damn good to play even that, cause i cant. :D

A bit more work, and u are there

i'll give it another crack in a few days, its just out of reach of my current ability if i slow it all down just a small amount maybe 7/8ths speed i can nail it everytime.
I have to say as well it was an end of night recording and i had played for maybe 3 hours so i guess i had gone off the boil a bit.
the other version i did was far better without any of the extra string hits this one had until i started tapping the wrong frets!

does anybody have the backing track for eruption by the way, im sure there is one, hell its only a bit of drumming at the start anyway!

I don't have the backing track anymore but I know someone who does I'll try and get it unless someone beats me to it. Good job by the way I'm not on the money on eruption either so don't worry mate ive heard Eddie himself not play it perfectly either at some concerts.

To be honest with you Visco I really dont think you are qualified to comment on that track if thats your opinion. Sounded bloody good to me, with this stuff you dont have to 100% accurate plus no backing track to play along too!! Nowt wrong with that, and that guitar looks fookin cool I want one

Rick,

I enjoyed watching this. I've never tried this track in it's entirity. I tried the beginning a few months back, but after the first 12 notes, I could not get it fast enough, so I quited to try it sometime later. I'm very busy right now, so I think that'll will be after summer....

Don't worry the wrong notes. Just try to concentrate on the notes on a lower speed and I'm sure you'll grow completely into it.

It was a very nice piece and be proud of this one!

I've recorded the tapping part of eruption somewhere in 2002.... If I find it, I'll post it on the board. It wasn't complete good, but good enough for me....

when i listen to it today, i clipped a couple of A's on the way down to the dive bombs.
i messed up the tremolo picking badly dunno way, cos its the easiest part of the whole track.

easy stuff to fix, the biggest problem is the legato part i just can't get the 3rd hammer on but i will.

cheers for the cool comments everybody anyway!
