If you want to be part of the opposing team taking on the Old Farts then post your interest here and I'll compile the list...
We'll be using the same Backer as the other thread.
Same rules apply and we need 7 to 8 people..

We have to kind of loosen up on the age restriction to avoid any kind of backlash from elderly discrimination (they're a touchy bunch with superior nappies)

Think you are going to lose your audience there, we all know that the use of the wah-wah has no place in the blues. Blues is all about feeling, well yes, there was plenty of that, and tone, which was pretty ace too, and style of course, okay I'll admit there was loads of that too. Oh okay I have to admit that was blooming well "as cool as" nice one zeusse. Great playing mate. :thumb:

Thanks boys for the compliments but I hardly ever use wah and I thought well why not...even though I'm not very good with a wah I just wanted to see if I could fit something different in. I think I had too much wah and chorus but it's all a learning process like everything else. Gonna have to screw around with my GNX more and try and get a better wah tone..back to the drawing board.

I'll try and get this done later tonight but spent two hours doing a cover of 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' so daggers being looked at from herindoors at the moment...I'll get on with it as soon as she's stopped with the daggers!!!!

Well here's a bit from me. I'm not sure if the level or quality is quite right as I can't seem to get the hang of having the guitar plugged directly into the computer, which I've recently started trying after rewiring my set up.
Next time I will go back to mic-ing up the amp so I can hear what's going on properly and get a feel for the piece.

I'm not sure what software you used but if you double click on the speaker icon in the task bar -> Options -> Properties you'll then see an option box for Playback and Recording, select Recording and then from there you can choose the way the program will record it. For example if Mic or Line In are selected then the track your recording will only record what is coming through that input but if you have Stereo Mix or Mono Mix selected then it will record everything including the Backing Track and Mic or Line In.
Hope this helps.

That is a top tip pete so simple but I keep playing with these settings then forget they are the cause of problems  I am now looking forward to my bit rather than dread it like I usually do. That's the conclusion I came to, I'll put one on the shopping list, prolly try to get a bargain at the upcoming London Guitar Show.
Make sure you get one that has built in compression. If you can spare 100 pound have a look at a Zoom 4 track recorder they're great and they use a memory stick similar to a camera.

Stempy my mate who goes by Snakehips was selling a multi track recorder i can't remember exact details but it is on site in the selling section i think.
Have had a look and its 16 track and i think he still has it.

Cheers guys for the leads. I've actually got the ability to record 8 tracks on my pooter and it has compression and all that stuff so I think I'll just get a basic mixer for now and see how it goes. My biggest problem is signal routing and with a Mixer I will be able to send what I want where I want it, instead of having to cobble together a selection of various devices to make things work.
Nice finish Visco, somehow my bit seemed to lack sparkle, hope I didn't let the side down.

Good luck team, this is an awesome piece of creativity.

Stemp mate very nice playing indeed, you had some nice licks in there dude and your timing was pretty spot on too. Just something to consider next time is the type of tone you use, it was way too distorted in a muddy kind of way and your volume needed to come up mate, otherwise I liked it :thumb:

Visco you Rocker, that was premo dude. Recording wise was fine other than your volume needed to come up and there was too much bass, actually sounded like you were mic'd which isn't neccessarily a bad thing but it kind of sounded too far away if you know what I mean. Anyway was pretty bloody good mate :star:

I agree with everything you say, I did try several different tones and none of them seemed to fit with the previous players, so I just gave up a bit I suppose and knocked something out so as not to hold things up. Think I compressed it a little too much too, hence the muddiness.

No problem mate, just choose a tone that suits your playing style and don't worry too much about weather or not it suits the tones others are using because theres nothing wrong with having a contrast, then play around with the volumes until neither the BT nor the Leed are dominating - if you know what I mean?
