Can't wait! Off to see BB King on his farewell tour at MEN (Manchester) tomorrow night - supported by Gary Moore! Yippee!!
Hate arenas, but bought tickets within 2 seconds of becoming available so should have good seats?
Will report back...
Any of you guys gonna catch the man?
Have fun Chris..unfortunately not seeing him but catching me old mucker Sankehips' band Mud In Your Ear in Arbroath tommorrow night should be some cool Muddy Waters blues music.

I had the chance of tickets from one of my students who is off to Atlanta to play golf (!!!) but I decided against it...I like my blues in a club and I'm not a big BB King fan tho I appreciate his influence on modern guitar and blues...wanna see that kinda stuff in a small sweaty venue with a bar NOT selling Hofmeister closer to my home next door to a curry house! I'm probably too fucking old!!!

Amazing Gig!
To be honest I was really worried that I'd be disappointed, that at 80 years old BB might have been too frail. No Way!
Gary Moore played a fantastic set of his trademark blues - just reminds you what a fantastic player he is - and his singing has improved over the years. He wrings everything out of all the notes he plays (which are quite a lot at times!) -superb.
Enter the BB King Band - brilliant, consumate musicians, guitar, bass, drums, horns and keyboards. Then the man himself - truly amazing. He has to sit down during the gig but he can still boogie! His voice is still incredible - awesome! At 80 this is a real feat - he just belts out the songs as if he was 40 years younger. And Lucille? She still wails!
BB King is amazing! Funny, brilliant showman - and still THE king of the Blues! 1 3/4 hour show at 80? Now that's class.
(I travelled to Birmingham NEC years ago to see Robert Cray, top dollar prices. Sh*t support band and played 45 mins! Great player - but lazy b*st*rd!) Never bought anything of his since.... (I'm sure he's bothered )
tears in my eyes
what a gig!
gary moore - flawless and I loved it as I love his playing (tone on his semi was really superb!) wow pure fire blues at its best.
Couldnt help thinking though that I wish I was watching Gary Moore in a small club though and that maybe the blues is just not meant for an arena.
HOWEVER, then enter BB KING who in a second turned Wembley Arena into the worlds largest ever Blues Club!!! Sensational! Amazing show, amazing man - still got it....king of the blues. How does he (& STILL!) get that fat mid tone? NO ONE HAS GOT WHAT BB HAS.
I could write on & on about this gig but its better left in my head - I am just so pleased I could be there.
I raise a glass to all those who went & those who wished the could have gone, to all those who believe and to those continuing the message.
LONG LIVE THE KING - X
