Right !! Okay in that case I am going re-order this and hopefully get it moving again. So check this out everyone the new order is as follows. I have tried to take into account what has been happening on the other jams here so as not to put too much pressure on any one person and also give a Chance for some of the newer members to get in and have a go.
If anyone has a problem with this, shout up now rather that let this drag on for days.

Hi Zap,
Only just looked at this and noticed that I am next so, I'll try to get to it tonight, tommorow night at the latest. Got a house full of kids at the moment so I'll just lock them outside or in the garage or something....

Well I've downloaded it and tried my best for half an hour but to be honest guys I'm flogging a dead horse, sounds shite over the BT and... theres another guitar playing a funky lead line in the background so.... I'll follow Stew and duck out as well, sorry and all that.

Thats not a prob Farley, I personally think this is a tough track too.
Looks like I'm up next then... eek the pressures on now!
I'll see what I can do tomorrow.

12-04-2006, 04:51 AM
hmmmm tumbleweed
Heh Farl this is maybe an idea to come back to this track in 6months time and see if we have improved sufficiently to lay down something over this one. I struggled big time to come up with anything...couldn't really figure out a scale other than old faithful but it sounded boring.
It would be cool after these jams if there was someone with a fair bit experience that was able to dissect what people had played and then commented on why certain things worked and others didn't this includes what scale was used but also timing... I know personally if I play just just some chords in a rythym situation my timing is quite good but my timing of leads parts is not that great.
Stew
so whos next up is it you Tomahawk or Zap?
Mr Smith
13-04-2006, 11:05 AM
I think its SixWheels turn Rob, then Zap then me
Mr Smith
13-04-2006, 11:12 AM
Hey Stew just commenting on your last post about timing, do you metronome? You really do have to start reeeeaaallly slow and be precise with each note, then gradually increase the metronome, it'll help mate, it really works.

Got a really good metronome but I ain't disiplined enough to have a regime that I stick to...I am one of these people that someone needs to tell me!!
I will try though...I promise
Damn this was difficult!!!
In the end after toiling for what seemed like hours I finally got something down that I was half-happy with. It's only a short piece but hey, this was my first zombo challenge and no way was I going to be defeated, so I figured short is better than non-existent.

First Zombo challenge?? Wow! Picked a tricky one to start on! Trial by fire! LOL You passed with flying colours!! :thumb:
farl
Thanks for the nice comments guys, you're all helping to keep me motivated.
The best bit for me is having a backing track to play over which is quite unlike anything I would compose myself. This helps to stretch me musically and will surely make me a better player in the long run.
Mr Smith
18-04-2006, 09:27 PM
Yeah SixWheels you did great dude, this is indeed difficult given the fact that it already has a whawha'd leed on it

Indeed Master Tang ..... the tumbleweed is rolling through this jam at the moment so just dive in. I think Tomahawk was taking the next slot, but I am sure if you ask him nicely he'll let you step in, if not follow on after him.

errrrm yeah that was passable... haha naa that was superb dawg! :-D
Looks like this one aint going to be finished this month Zomb, maybe you could fit in a slice or one of the players already in could finish it off, seems to have stumped many as it was a tough BT. I know it was a second april challenge but it was sounding good so far shame to let it slide.

There was one early on Zombo but people dropped in then dropped out so it all got a bit confusing. Then no takers at all till Sixwheels, Tomahawk, and Master Tang came along. So that appears to be it so far.
So far we have had :-
1. Rlee
2. Sixwheels.
3. Master Tang.
4. Tomahawk <--- up next
5. Zappafan
6. ???

Wasn't too sure on how long or where I should stop so if it needs changes I can do another version in pretty short order
Good job Zeusse! that fit in very nicely, I'm beginning to think I should have used way more reverb.
So who's next?
zeusse
27-04-2006, 04:53 PM
Im trying to figure out how I got so much reverb when I listen to it on the Pro Tracks it sounds balanced and then when I mixdown and mp3 it becomes muddy I'm checking my settings and everything looks good but everyonce in awhile this problem happens anybody have some advice please let me know the usual things have been checked. I might redo the track with no reverb or delay just to see if its the GNX4 doing it in the mixdown or the Pro Tracks....I ain't no professional I'm a beer guzzling nitwit!
LMAO, lay off the beer man! things might become clearer.
It's funny you should have that problem though, because I have the reverse of that... I have more reverb until mixdown.
zeusse
27-04-2006, 07:32 PM
your right dude gotta be sober when mixing might try that today
Wasn't too sure on how long or where I should stop so if it needs changes I can do another version in pretty short order
