I have been a fan of Jackson guitars since the late 80's and got my first one in '94, which I still have and still play. Despite the fact that I love it and would kill any man that tried to take it away from me, it was never quite my 'dream guitar'. That position was always going to be held by the Jackson SL2H Soloist and thoughts of owning one were always going to be a fantasy until a recent change to our financial circumstances. It was this change that led to my supremely fantastic wife saying to me "I think you shoud get one, you deserve it", now believe it or not I actually protested and replied "No, I couldn't possibly, they're far too expensive" but she insisted, saying that the opportunity may never come again. Needless to say, I soon relented and began to shop around for the best deal.
I knew that it was much cheaper to buy direct from the USA and had read on several occasions of a particular dealer that always gave exceptional levels of service and specialised in Jackson guitars, so it was to his website that I went first. I was looking specifically for a transparent blue model and sure enough he could supply one. He could also ship to the UK and save me a few hundred pounds on the purchase price. I was all set to buy it when suddenly my eyes popped out of my head... there it was... my dream guitar surrounded by a golden halo of biblical proportions... not only was I about to buy my dream guitar but now I was about to buy a limited edition version in transparent purple with gold-plated hardware instead of chrome, DiMarzio pickups instead of Seymour Duncans and to top it all off it was the last one available from a production run of only twelve! YeeHaa!
The bank has wired the money across and now I wait, heart beat racing at the prospect of holding my personal ultimate guitar.
As soon as it arrives I'll take some more piccies and post them up but until then, here's a couple of shop photo's...
Sorry to type so much but I'm just soooo excited.

I am not surprsed you are excited, that sure is a fine looking guitar, I think I would be too. If it plays and sounds as good as it looks I am sure that you are on to a good thing.

What a guitar !! What a wife !! What a lucky bugger !!

I think I must be a lucky bugger... I have to keep pinching myself to make sure i'm not dreaming.

ini... the price including shipping was £1260 and no doubt when it lands on these shores the lovely people at HM Customs & Excise will want to charge me V.A.T. before I can finally get my hands on it. That would take the total to £1480 approximately.
A standard production transparent blue one would cost £1800 to buy here in the UK.

lol.... no, it's the one thing Jackson have always got wrong, but I don't believe perfection can ever be obtained. For me, this is as near as it gets.
