until now the total amount of files you can upload has been disabled, however the server is filling up fast, so i've set a limit of 25mb per member for the time being.
Also max file upload size is now 5mb this will buy me and zapp enough time to sort it out before it really becomes an issue!

sadly what that means is you'll have to delete some older attachments to upload new ones if you have used over your 25mb quota.

It might be a good idea for people to host their files from http://pages.google.com for a while, it allows you to host up to 100mb.
You'll need to create a gmail account which can be done from that page too and it has the added benefit of a 2.5gig inbox! Oh and its completely free and dosn't seem to be advert laden either.

Its just a suggestion.

all we need to do is delete stuff that serves no purpose! for example on jams everybody uploads there part when in reality the only bit need is the final version.
so 8 people 5mb each is 40mb when it could just be 5mb

if this is passed to a moderator or admin they can upload it for you without using any storage space!

a little trick me n my m8 do is we go around getting free webhosts and put up all our files into those different sites then link them bk to the main site. its not the best idea to do as it can slow down your download speeds but thats what me and my m8 did when we were running a games website. Also if your gunna do such a thing like this i would advise you to download a php download system called pafiledb and make it so the uploads go to the other hosts but have the actual script on this site :D if you need anyhelp just ask me i am pritty good with web related stuff.

Hope this has helped and hasnt been too confuseing.

pafiledb won't work to well with this, its a big part of phpbb though.

i've slacked the limit off again just for now! still max 5mb upload but no max size, i'll make a final modification when i get back to the uk next week then it'll all become clearer...

That's a good idea.
I'm using Filelodge.com as a free file host.
This host site allows you 500 megs storing and it's all free

I think the fact you offer free upload space means you should be able to mederate it as you see fit rick. As a Mod at 101, (for now!) I have about 30 songs up and should really get rid off. I deleted the lot last year and it came to 3GB!!!

Yea, the fact that this site is free is more than enough...i mean, the jamroom alone being free is incredible. If you gotta use a file host, so be it, if it helps keep this site on a five finger discount, then it's easy enough to do!

Far out a whole 128k of Ram!!! What ever happened to Sinclair?
Wasn't it IBM who said nobody will ever need more than 640k of Ram, wow and just think, those idiots are still making PCs to this day..

Hi chaps!

if you have been having problems uploading files, could you please let me know.

details i need are simple, namely the extension of the file, IE wmv or mp3 etc and the size of the file.

I'm hot on the heels of this one and this information will hopefully help me track down the problem.

cheers Rick!

wma 5.21 megs, i had a full quota even, and deleted that as well, but still cannot upload.

I saw this on the way through it...

I couldn't upload a 3 MB mp3 today. UJisng Firefox 1.5.0.11

No error messages.

Also couldn't embed YouTube vids. Just came up as text but maybe I'm not doing it right? Though I have posted them that way before.
