ahh, but the EMG's are now in the RG Black beauty. I sold the DY with standard pups. It sounds beautiful, great for all the Slayer/Metallica/Dillinger escape plan/Dying Fetus sounds ;)

nice collection, i want 1 :( but i a skint student
John could you go into a bit more detail as to how you create this beautiful finish on your Ibanez. I've got an old Yamaha RGX that I fancy changing the electronics and putting a new finish on, that could be a projet I start in a few months when its colder and nights drawing in.

Sure it's done chemically the whole process takes some time though!
You can look at my bosses web site if you want here is the link it's all in German though you can even see me on TV and see how it's actually done! When you go on the site look under BLACH LACKIERUNG then VERSPIEGELUNG there you will see my work! www.blach.de
First of all the object that needs to be chromed must be sprayed in clear lacquer the part must be prepeared and rubbed down so its perfect!
Scratches or heavy rubbing down paper will show up so it's finished with at least 800 grade paper. Then you have to spray without getting any dust or runs in it so the finish is absolutely flat and shiny. This will be the surface that the chrome will lie on it is then treated with a light acid wich keys the surface then it is washed off to remove any chemicals in this case surplass acid. Then a mixture of chemicals not allowed to tell sorry but pure silver is in there ! Then you blow off any impure chemicals from the surface then you have to seal the chrome unless it will oxidize and go yellow.
In the case of my blue guitar I used a transparent blue I mixed myself so you can see the chrome underneath the blue it just shines through. I have learnt how to spray to the ultimate limits of getting a mirror finish or getting a run I do apply the latter and not the run (rare)
Here is a teddy bear I did 2 weeks ago it was about 140cm!
wow that is absolutely amazing work
jeez i'll have to go for the chrome look on my car but pay someone to polish it!!
