the thin bit on the headstock might have been snapped off.
they usually break right across where the tuner holes are drilled but need a really good whack to break them.
other than that, no they are fine.

Seems we get the short straw every time. We can either have pretty poor quality at rock bottom prices ( korean / china made), reasonable quality stuff but premiums imposed by smaller importers ( japanese made ) or pay through the nose and enjoy being ripped off ( USA Made ).

I get constantly annoyed with the quality and supply of guitars that are available here in the UK. It's for precisely that reason that the quality guitars are in such demand and command such high secondhand prices here. Seems that unless you want yet another pretty run-of-the-mill ibanez then you've pretty much got no choice.

I've heard that if you get one shipped over in bits (neck in one package, body in another) that you do not pay import taxes. A mate told me that he did this to fund him through university but this was a few years back. He was buying old Fenders and Gibsons in the states, getting the shipper to split them, re-assembling them here and making a fortune! Things may have changed now however.... and, he was doing this with guitars worth several hundreds of pounds, if not thousands, not a "cheaper" model (good as the Charvel looks!)

they are a great guitar, the company is based in the uk and they have a small plant in the far east that the own, it only makes maverick guitars.

i was sat in manchester airport last year reading about the F1 in total guitar and it got one of the best reviews a guitar could get and having played one i could only agree!

knobs are a bit weird but you get used to them.

I saw one in "Cash Converters" for £90 this morning and.... no carriage!

They also had a a couple of real nice Love Rock SG's. One second hand for £299 and a real nice new cherry one at £399. The thing is, the Cherry one was really well made. You would never really know it was not a Gibson but, although it genuinely was a Loverock, the headstock was plain for you to put your own transfers on! The guy selling said "get yourself some Gibson tranfers and stick it on e-bay" Bugger!! It would not have had any sreial number of course but hell, it would have looked convincing! Buyers beware!

I've got my eye on a Deluxe Electric Mistress for a tenna, well £15 if you count postage. It's in a dire state though, the supersized photos show stains on the thing, the original dials have been replaced and there's an unbelievable amount of scratches, i'm surprised it works to be honest.
It could be a bargain considering these things sell for £100 new, but I'm reluctant to bid cos of the state of it, it hasn't been well looked after.

They were showing me these blue tube shaped things underneath the chasis and they said there was so much power in them that if you touch them the shock would kill you. I gotta wonder why they don't put a cover over something like that.

They where most likely talking about the capacitors.,..but no amp has the connections to those Caps exposed. They are inside the chassis. You just have to be very careful like I said,..because those Caps hold a charge for a while. You can discharge them by grounding them out to the chassis,..but ya need to know how and even after that,.I would take voltage readings before touching anything in a tube amp. If ya do decide to build one yourself,..it is cool doing it and there are kits available to do it,..expensive but they're out there. Google search! The other thing ya need to consider is how you are at soldering. That's important,..getting clean solder joints and planing your wiring layout. Also,..this is not needed but I own a variac. It's a variable voltage regulator (you guys know what I mean) you can hook them to an amp and increase the voltage to make the amp push more or decrease it and crank the amp up to 10 in your bedroom. Anyway,.these are great to have when building a tube amp,..after you get it done and you're ready to fire it up,..it's best to plug the amp into the variac and bring the voltage up slowly,..say,..30 volts for 2 hours,..50 for 2 hours 70 and so on until you reach peak voltage. This powers up the caps properly and is called burn in. Some guys leave the amp on for 24 hours at a low voltage and increase slowly up to peak voltage. It's a good thing to do and breaks the amp in the right way.
So,..just becareful,..that's all I'm saying! They do kill...
