Ok Steve I had some ideas bouncing around my empty noggin and came up with this I have another one but it wouldn't be finished in time the way I would want it so I'm going with this one. If the other gets done at some point I'll post it in the music posts.....E is a bad key for me if you got some new stuff in F#,B or even D that would be cool if you could..;)

Eric the was fantasctic...I like the little picking notes in the back.I also like the tones you used on this one. The only thing is that the guitar is a bit too loud for the backing track but it's one of my favorite one on this bt...even from ohter forrum! Great job Eric :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Hi there Zane 72,
I thought I'd give this solo competition a try. I used an old '79 les paul custom on this one, so no whammy bars here. Hope it's okay.

Love it bud! You never dissappoint! But a question did you find this track to be a bit testing? I know I did but that's what makes it a great track..Steve keeps me thinking with these backers at first listen you think you got something and then when you really get into it what you thought you had you have to totally rethink it....ok I need beer now

Thanks Eric, I thought yours was killer too, in fact Steve and John both blew me away as well, and Gil2010 really made a fantastic introduction for herself! As for if it was testing, only so much in that I didn't want to just do the "same ole same ole" on it, Steve's backings always have a way a making me think a little more outside of the ordinary, well outside of what I would ordinarily do anyway LOL...hmm I think I'll join you in that beer now...:thumb:

Well I'm glad we got that sorted out not that it matters I wish more women would play I'm trying to get my daughter going but she's got that social life thing going and we wouldn't want to cramp that now would we....maybe she will come around next year in high school when she finds out how many boys are in the guitar class....and maybe when she hears you she'll get inspired:-)

Absolutely right.
You'll find we're all too busy getting over excited about fully-floating-double-locking-trems and having debates about whether alder makes a better body than basswood to be worried about gender.

I don't think you're gonna be toast with playing like that Myuzishin... I really like your phrasing.
And Eric... thanks for your comments.
I don't really have a problem with my playing in a 'technical ability' sense, thanks to all you guys I'm making improvements all the time. The problem I seem to be having at the moment is transfering that ability into something that sounds musical.

I'm putting together for Rick's Acoustic challenge, and Zuesse I'm planning to do a Neil Young cover for that one, if you have a favorite send it to me and I'll give it a go if I know it.

Zombo that is some really cool stuff going on I like your riffs during the climax.
Zane I like the tone and your contrast is really cool.
Zeusse is that cheating putting two parts down? Yours was very soulful.
Gil2010, Nice entrance to the site. I like your use of motivs. very nice.
Steve Dak you are an amazing player. I kept thinking of Jason Becker.
Six wheel. Awsome job! Great ending. It is a good jam but you seem to expect more with that buildup and the dive made it work well.
Augmyus that was nice and creepy at the begining and a great contrast into the next section.
I will put something up tommorow. I think I am a little scared though. There is some great stuff here. I think I am brave enough.

I don't know if there's a rule yet on adding extra stuff to the solo competition but I've done it before...lol Steve might have to chime in and verify if there are any rules at all...The way I see it if you can add 20 different things and it works than its all right with me..I could have solo'd thru the whole thing but I always try to be different thats why were here right!......I would shudder to think we have rules that constrict creativity on this site...but I can see you just wanted to make sure...hehe:lol: I only cheat on my taxes honest..LOL
