As usual I made a start to this one I did it in one take and played around one minute to it so do the same one minute per person should do !
I decided to keep it funky but slow it down a bit which allows for feel and accuracy I need five more to help me out on this challenge !
Please listen to it first before you put your name up please anybody is welcome to play on this don't ever feel your not good enough for the Zombo challenge because you are!

Cheers Zombo

WOW... all gone in three hours and thirty minutes, that must be a record!

Perhaps there should be a Zombo Challenge September Part II. I guess that depends on how many more want to join in... I haven't even listened to it yet so hold that thought.

It also cuts off a bit sharp, but I wanted to make sure i left enough room for stevedak to work his magic

ok guys here's my bit, it's been a long hot drunken weekend and I think this reflects my hung over state quite nicely LOL :hammer:

Zombo--excellent stuff as always, a perfect way to kick this funky number off

Steve--great chops, loved the tone and the beautiful feel you put into this

Ini--perfect downshift into the clean tone and laid back phrasing, very thoughtful and well executed

Visco--improving all the time my friend, some shredtastic licks there

Zap--thank goodness you didn't redo that bit, I loved the layering in the first part, the talkbox was just superb, one of your best so far I think!!

I'm really looking forward to hearing what all the rest of you do on part II of this killer jam! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Right, The BT is posted for all to listen to. If you fancy a slot then you post up your interest and get your name on the list. The first person then takes the BT and records his bit and re-posts an MP3 of the BT with his slot filled. The second person then records his slot and re-posts the MP3 with that slot filled etc. etc.

There is a slot left on the end of the second September challenge so why not put your name up for it and we'll let you know when it is your turn.

Well I can quite honestly say "There wasn't a single thing I didn't like about this jam"

Well done everyone!

With a wide range of styles, tones and techniques incorporated into it, it goes to prove that no matter who we listen to or who we try to be like we will always end up with our own sounds. It's kind of like a fingerprint... no two are ever the same.

Okay, well John has sent the backer to me so I'll commence the proceedings for part II in the morning and hopefully I'll keep up the good work.

Nicely done Eric!

Clearly you don't need beer to be an outstanding player, that was very cool.

Just think... when you've got leather furniture you'll have an excuse to play more guitar and do less housework... just sit down in a pair of shorts and when she asks (tells) you to get up and do something, you can tell her you're stuck to the furniture... happens to me all the time ;-)

Well, the "Wheat King" has tried and struggled. That progression in funk style is nothing like the other parts!! Yes, Sixstrings, there was a lot of interest but again, like Bluesgeek, I have to admit defeat but hey... try it, it is a particularly difficult passage and yes, I could make a noise all over it but it would sound awful! I will admit my limitations, after about 2 hours of trying everything I know, I can not come up with anything that I feel happy about posting!! The earlier sections without the chord progressions are so different and, I have to say, so much easier to jam along with (albeit slowly! LOL) but, that section really is a tough one!! Rob mate, if you want to take a shot then please do but, after asking to get in, I am asking to get out and admiting defeat. Perhaps I should stick to Blues based jams.

Sorry guys

Hey no problem Farl mate.

Better to bow out than post something you're not happy with, there are times when even my genius fingers (said with heaps of tongue-in-cheek sarcasm) don't want to comply with a backing track.

I hope I didn't sound too pushy in my previous post, I'm just eager to hear more from you guys.

Bluesgeek, no not just you, I have pentatonic fingers as well! LOL And like you, given enough time... But, I have not got that much time!

Sixwheels, No mate not pushy at all! No worries but you are right better not to post than to post something crappy! LOL

C'mon someone, seems a shame not to get this finished, especially after all the people requested it.

So someone download this and add the next bit to it.
