A lot to sort through, but in the end I felt the best all around was Zuesse

This was tough and I'm going with Stempy on this because the effort was huge and the acoustic gave the track a very soulful element

I had to go for Zane I just loved the start with that catchy rhythm I mean its all about rhythm and not the everlasting solo nice efforts from everybody!
Was a hard descision to make!

I hope nobody objects but i dropped my track out of this. I dont really do the competition stuff, not my bag, and i didn't intend my bits to be a finished article in any way, just me having a noodle about, as i do ...... and as Zombo rightly said, this is "not about the everlasting solo".

Neil !! Don't take so seriously. I think we all do it in good fun and it gives us an Idea what poeple likes to listen. Yours was very good, it was in my top 3.
I don't think any challenge or solo competition was ever an ego thing here on the site. Not to late to change your mind.

I'm still trying to make my decision on the vote...so far Flyingzombo , Zeusse and Zappa are my to 3.

Well, obviously I don't do it for the competition, I do it for the practice and the feedback, but I respect Zap and Visco's decision.

To each his own

I didn't even know it was a competition but Yay! I got my first ever vote.

Listened to 'em all...special mentions to farley's as I liked the fact he went for a riff type rhyhm. In the end I went with Zane as the funk stuff is a difficult thing to get the timing perfect without it sounding 'stiff' if ya catch my drift.

Great stuff all around.

very very tough decision, but in the end I had to go with Stempy, I just loved the way the acoustic added that extra texture to the track and broadened the whole thing out, leaving a nice contrast for the tight dual guitars. Well done everybody!!!

what a tough choice, all were realy good,, stempy i digged the laid back feel and it was solid playing throughout,

zombo,, a great infectious riff realy liked it, but remimded me a little too much of walk this way (aerosmith run dmc) some nice chops in there too.

bwdavis 99, very zz top top to my ears nice 1

farley,, i digged the riff a lot realy well done

zeusse,, great rythem melody im very very impressed sounds quite satchy sounding yet origional at the same time.

guitarpima,, i digged the wah nice catchy melody as well very catchy indeed

bigdoug, sounds cool a little digital clipping on my speakers but i can hear it well enough very traditional type rythem and it works nice 1,

zane 72, i realy dig the funky vibe and nice use of fx especialy the rotary

how to choose a winner its a tough one and i gues will just come down to personal choice of musical styles ok for me zane tops it very very closly followed by zeuse, well done to all you guys you should all be proud, listening to these tracks beats watching the tv anyday

Don't worry about it Zap look at the last competition I didn't even get a vote it doesn't matter its all a bit of good fun !!
Also for you as well Visco just hang in there mate I felt a bit weird when everybody said I sound like Walk this way because it is a very chromatic lick, whereas mine is not so don't give up you two!

Hey Matey :-) , I ain't givin' up on anything, I don't object to people hearing my stuff whether it be good or bad, I just don't do the competitions. It isnt a question of feeling wierd or nervous or concerned about winning or losing or coming first or last or whatever. I just dont see music, or indeed playing guitar as a competitive thing. Music is an art form, not a race, and I like to treat it like that. Just my opinion, and I dont expect everyone to hold with my views. I didnt realise that this would be going to a vote, if so I wouldn't have posted anything back on it. Each to their own though, and I am quite happy to chip my bit in now and again, at one point I wouldnt even vote on these as I felt it was unfair to the others that took part.

Anyways all is cool, and i'm sorting out some more drum and bass backers that I will send to you for you to check out ...... :thumb:

I had to give my vote to farly. That was a very 70's riff and I liked it a lot.

I'm with you Zappafan. Just play and have fun. But I guess it is kind of nice to do the competition thing. It pushes you a little to do better and work harder. Now if only someone would vote for me once. LOL Just kidding.

I have to say that all post were different and brought some different kind of flavor to the bt. Well done to all of you!

This is a real tough one. Sonically speaking I was blown away but some of the sound you guys are getting. BigD your sound reminded me of The Who :thumb:

Zeusse you are the man and may your cup never run dry my friend!!!

But I am going with Farl on this..Farl me old mucker you blow me away with the catchy riffs you come up with and the odd little pinch harmonic chucked in and then that big 70s sound it changed to.

Well done everyone on this I was thoroughly entertained

Hey Stew and Guitarpima!! thanks for the votes!! and thanks guys for the other comments! 70's indeed it was! LOL I was really impressed by the quality of play, the variation of styles and originality that flowed from you guys on this. A great idea Zombo matey! and some great Zombo playing that won me over and got my vote but hell it was a tough one!! As for the competitive side of it I think I would enter the next one whether or not I got a vote, I just like taking part and trying out a few bits and pieces. If people like it then hey, that's a welcome bonus! :-)

And that my friend is the point here taking part in the fun and trying to see if your the guy with the best staple riff...look at most classic rock tunes most of the staple riffs aren't hard they just have a great vibe and that should be the focus not the solo......thus this answers the question why people buy albums they want the riff

Not sure of the rules when it comes to voting (being a new member and having never competed) so I'll refrain this time. But I will say I like how this comp places the emphasis on originality. Great job by all. I really enjoyed (and was surprised by a few) of the different styles and directions takin with the BT. I really enjoyed listening to all the entries.
