View Full Version : when you are not doing this
when im not at home i will probably be doing this!
Having a night on the tiles?
When I am not doing this I am luthering and programming, currently more programming than luthering, but the bills have to be paid!
by the way if i look a bit blimpish, that particular day it was about 2c
and i had maybe 5 or 6 layers of clothes on!
Funny enough, I thought you were about to float off and that's why you were holding on like grim death. Is that where you get plastered? On rooftops? And where are the plastering dogs?
plastering is my main trade, however i also do lots of roofing and plenty of joinery. but i always wanted to be A LUMBERJACK.

yeah, it has it's moments. I am actually considering a change. Family business. Might be trading in my duty belt for a tool belt.

I write mainly Perl pattern matching programs. I receive articles for medical journals from all over the world. THe programs I write perform "automated eletronic copy editing" on these files and prepares them for publishing.
It's not as boring as it sounds but after 8 years it is pretty boring :)
Hmmm! I do RPG, and C++ (JD Edwards, aka Peoplesoft aka Oracle specialisation) . Sideline in PHP, etc. After 18 years, I am anything but bored.............. How nurdy is that!!
I would have thought pattern matching could be fascinating, getting on for AI surely (which fascinates me!).
AI, thats kinda what this forum has.
for some totally unrelated reason typing that made me think if micro$oft didn't write OS we wouldn't need ctrl+alt+del what a tangent that was.

All I do for a living is Eat, Sleep, Guitar, School, Repeat.

I venture forth into the world of teen gangsters and encourage them to be at one with the teachings of Newton, Dalton and Einstein! Luckily only 3 days a week now, as I am now a self appointed guitar guru - spreading great deals and amazing axes to the masses. Sailing the stormy seas of ignorance and poor service, offering an emotional and financial lifeline to beleaguered guitarists throughout our fair lands. Whilst the teaching of Newton are still dear to my heart, they are being steadily displaced by the need to deliver the weapons of mass Riff-struction to the guitar community.

As an IT / Tech Services Manager with a Birmingham based Oracle Software house. I seem to spend most of my time stopping our programmers dowloading crap and filling up the hard drives on our servers with it !!!
A battle they think they might win, but they don't have a hope in hell.
That space is MINE  and will be dedicated to my own MP3 collection....... of some of the greatest guitar players from across the planet.......... it's what hard drives and servers were invented for.

I am a Senoir QA Analyst in a petrochemical plant owned by the Jap chemical giant Mitsui. Analyse for main primary products(Phenol and Acetone) as well as raw materials(Benzene,Cumene, etc etc). Work is quite relaxed and it pays well but it is getting boring these days. That is why I have got myself an axe with amps and effects at my office.
