Well it was Friday the 13th bad luck you may say I spit on it!
But for Paul it was to begin with he flew to Amsterdam to Nuremberg smiling an happy to be there then to find out his luggage ie; guitar was still in Amsterdam! Some 10 hours later he recieved his pride and joy at the airport and quickly had to travel to his gig! I felt sorry for Paul he was so tired he told me he had only had 4 hours sleep he was well tired!
The location is more or less a sort of hippy rocker pub with a great atmosphere the Germans love rock music over here and they where all eagerly awaiting Pauls performance.
Ini and myself arrived went upstairs and met Paul I somehow imagined a taller guy with massive fingers but he was about my size 1.70 cm and fingers like me. All I can tell you is that Paul makes up for that on the guitar!!! Then he told us that because of the delay at the airport he had no chance to practice with the lads just one hour they had never even met!!
So Paul opened up his night with some raunching fret nail biting licks that would make any seasoned player drool it was more than impressive I would call it inspirational. The crowd where in awe and so where we I even saw a young lad called Martin get up of his chair and come up to see Paul play those tornado like solos! He was so impressed he just kept on wagging his head in disbelief.
The amazing thing is as well the bassist Stephan and the drummer just went with what Paul was playing they where too very impressive, you would think they had been playing for years together.
If you haven't seen Paul play and he's been in your area then you should go to the nut house and sign yourself in because it is every guitarists delight to see a professional performer like Mr Rose!
At the end of the night Paul was absolutely destroyed after the long day so Zombo ordered him to relax and Ini and I played roadies it was an honour!
So please enjoy the pictures and extract some of the night and enjoyment we savoured with Paul Rose!

You know I thought taking a student to a gig like that could show me up in a way to see Paul play like that!
But on the other side how inspiring it is to let them see what is possible on the guitar after all teaching is not about you it's about them!
I will be going again before he goes back and by the way Ini is my favourite student LOL !!
Oh yeh here is a clip in the local newspaper about Paul Rose be warned though it's in german!
thanks John, here's the 20 quid I promised you!!

Without doubt, Paul Rose is one of the most independent and talented guitarist of our time.
Born 1966 in english Newcastle he soon astonished the british audience and was chosen "Guitarist of the year" among experts of the "Guitarists Magazine" and the great Rory Gallagher also declared him winner of a competition started by Fender in UK a few years earlier.
His prize was a stratocaster presented by Rory Gallagher, which Paul still has with him occasionally on his gigs in Europe.
Alongside session with Brian May and Yngwie Malmsteen he regularly tours with Ted McKenna and Chris Kenn.

Hi all
Here's a bit of the gig that John and Ini were at. It's just a little bit of a track but thought you'd be interested.
The amp by the way is the CRATE V30 combo. I just borrowed it for the this tour. Very handy I must say.
Cheers
Paul
