i've been hard drive searching again!
back in 1985 a bunch of the top muzos from the rock world got together and made a track.
wiki explains it better than me, so click this!

hear 'n aid stars (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hear_'n_Aid)

anyway i found a backer and the original track hidden away in the realms.

it'll need plenty of guitarists and some singing.

if we are up for it i'll pop both tracks up later tonight

by the way the original guitarists were.
Vivian Campbell (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vivian_Campbell)
Carlos Cavazo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_Cavazo)
Brad Gillis (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Brad_Gillis&action=edit)
Craig Goldy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craig_Goldy)
George Lynch (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Lynch_%28musician%29)
Yngwie Malmsteen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yngwie_Malmsteen)
Eddie Ojeda (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eddie_Ojeda)
Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_%22Buck_Dharma%22_Roeser)
Neal Schon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neal_Schon)
Dave Murray (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Murray_%28musician%29)
Adrian Smith (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adrian_Smith)

so what tracks you have in mind for this massive tune? the one we have watched? or you got something else to go with?

bigdoug

that is everything that was wrong with the eighties, but I loved it, you guys will shred that. I cant wait to hear it.

Rick
01-11-2006, 10:18 AM
it totally up to everybody who plays on it.
it would be nice to improve it.

i love all the original guys licks on it though,

Any help you need Rick just give a shout and you got it seems like everyone is positive about doing this one...and maybe Steve should save a spot on the 6SH cd for this tune it would seem fitting

Rick
01-11-2006, 05:03 PM
it would be cool if you could mix it eric.

zeusse
01-11-2006, 05:13 PM
it would be cool if you could mix it eric.

I'm thinking of the best way we can do this so we don't loose on compression issues and any of you other cats that have suggestions throw them up..but I'll have a better idea once you throw the backer up, if its just drums and bass we can just find a couple of members to get it rolling with the rythem guitars first.....so throw up what you got their Rick and we'll go from there.

Tony4552

I'll do Malmsteens solo and Maidens harmony lol

Rick
01-11-2006, 08:36 PM
i'll try my best to get the backer uploaded asap.

but don't hold your breath it's just taken 25 mins just to read this

stevedak
01-11-2006, 10:20 PM
I'll gladly mix it if Eric can't, it would be cool and a lot of fun to just get everyone's bit done as a separate track and then put the whole thing together.

In a spooky turn of events, we were discussing doing this on my forum a couple of months ago, and I've just been nagged into doing it this month - our November competition is hair metal ballads as well, wierd ;)

...and they're off!!!! You could put this into any of the slots but I can tell you which one it was if not. How do you want the solo and where do I send for mixing in?

wahwah
02-11-2006, 05:03 PM
actually, that's pretty poor! Back to the drawing board I think. I have a plinter in my forefinger and everytime I bend a note it kills! :(

zeusse
02-11-2006, 05:52 PM
You could have splinters in every finger Chris and we'd never know the difference..LOL But since Stevedak is a lot better on mixing than me I'd rather him do it if he's ok with that I'm on limited time these days and don't want to fall behind and hold this thing up....its up to you Steve

Hey Rick,

Awesome backing. I have never heard this tune before so I just laid a solo track over the bass and drums. I am not sure what you exactly wanted us to do on this so I hope this is good enough.

I couldn't upload the full 10.3MB to this site so I uploaded the tune to soundclick.com - Please let me know if you want me to upload just the solo track so you can drop it in the mix.

Enjoy,

Narsh

30-12-2006, 08:56 AM
How is this working?

Is it going to be like the original with vocals/solos in the right places...

Or is it just a guitar jam for the whole BT?

Rick
30-12-2006, 09:05 AM
record a bit, if you want sing a bit.
you can either follow the original or jam a bit i guess

I think I better get at this one this week and maybe just everyone add their riff and we can always edit the clips as necessary....this one is far overdue to get finished. OK its a mission now :bart:
