Had the absolute pleasure of seeing the Quireboys, supporting Dave Lee Roth on his "Cabaret" tour last year! Had vaguely heard of them, thought they were perhaps an American Hair Rock outfit - an illusion shattered once lead singer and chief drunk Spike opened his mouth proclaiming in a strong Geordie accent how "poor" the football teams in Manchester are (no bad thing in my book!).

I've now caught tyhem 3 times (with UFO & Whitesnake) and love 'em to bits. If you like gravelly Booze soaked Blues Rock, then these guys are for you. Great double CD available of 1st 2 albums, and new album "Well Oiled" is great! No nonsense rock and roll, and great fun - or have I just lost the plot?
