I just got Gears of War last week, haven't really gotten into it though, too busy at work...I've also got some 6SH projects to finish before I get involved too heavily in it!! I'm also enjoying Call Of Duty 3 very much.

I have the Gamecube and the PS2. I play sometimes. I was big on Nascar Thunder 2003. I went 12 seasons undefeated and got bored. Well, at least I got to drive again.

My daughter was living on Nascar 2004 online forever can't remember her screen name think it was angelalex or something like that all I know is it was a place for her to meet guys and made me nervous as hell..LOL
I was a big Tomb Raider fan and Toca Touring and Colin McRae Rally fan but never relaly played any games since first daughter was born and even less since 6sh
I was also a big Tomb Raider fan on PS2 up to Tomb Raider 4, then they went and spoiled it with bad controls.
Now totally hooked on Resident Evil 4... completed amatuer level twice - second time with the everlasting rocket launcher :-), normal level, the Ada Wong sub game and now working through pro level.

Liberty City Stories and Final Fantasy VII at the moment , and still keep going back to Gran Turismo 3.
Also a Tomb Raider fan and Onimusha.
Ha Ha we are all a gang addicts, its funny how a lot of us have the same interests, I have got to admit to staying up many a late night gaming, but as stew said a lot less since kids and now guitars and 6sh, the xbox 360 is a family thing tho you can link into folders on your PC for video, Music and Photos and play and display them through the xbox on your TV, works very well to

You gotta try 2K7 Hockey Phil its gotta be the closest to the real thing me and my son have epic battles my wife actually thought when she walked downstairs we were watching a real NHL game on the large screen tv. Its the first time I've seen a hockey game where the players actually play positional hockey but play on Hall of Famer mode its just brutal and the fights are fantastic.

Anyone remember the Commodore 64. I have had the atari 2600, the oddessy, a Bally system, The commodor 64, all the nintendo's but only the first gen gameboy, and the PS2. I almost forgot the little handheld football and baseball games. Am I showing my age?

I also started with the Amiga. My fave game was "The Khaos engine" (ironic!) Then it was Quake and Half Life on the PC which were fantastic! Then I bought a PS2 but I get some form of motion sickness whenever I play it!! Makes me feel real sick for a couple of hours! LOL Just as well I guess!

I have a Gamecube lying around here too - did play many games before I played guitar, including counterstrike and starcraft.
Now I don't really play anymore, though I consider getting the third part of Prince of Persia, since I liked the other ones.

I also like my first person shooter and rpg if im in the mood for it, games such as Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. Half Life 1 and 2. Battlefield 2 and 2142, Diablo 2, Star Wars Knights of the old republic (im a big star wars fan!) and loads of other stuff.

I'll have a look for that on Amazon... sounds good. I do like some sports type games, particularly the Tony Hawks series (though not strictly a sports game), World Championship Snooker and PGA Tour Golf.

Just curious Phil over in North America we have Blockbuster to rent out movies and games, if you have that there or something similiar you should rent it out and try it and the nice thing about the 2K7 Hockey is they have kept it extreamly cheap to compete with EA Sports Hockey I got this one here for $20CDN compared to the other one which was $40CDN and not as good...oh and yes they also have the PC version which I'll be getting shortly with my new PC next week so if you can get it we can go head to head online

Yeah, I have a Blockbuster account, I'll have a look and see if they have it in yet. From what I can gather it seems to be a new release over here so they may not have a copy yet.

I also get into some MMORPG games when time allows...mostly EverQuest 2 and City Of Heroes/City Of Villains, and sometimes World Of Warcraft...I just added an extra GeForce 7800 GT card into my computer in SLI mode over the weekend, and the difference in gaming graphics is phenomenal...I may have to go back and play Far Cry all over again to see everything I missed!

I must admit i'm also a big FPS fan. Last week i played the entire Gears of war campaign, co-op with a friend. Intense gameplay and great visuals!
But given the choice, i prefer to play shooters on a PC, mouse and keyboard configuration. HL2, Far Cry and the Call of duty series would be my favorites.
I'm already saving money for a new PC to be able to play future games like Crysis, Bioshock and Alan Wake. Here's a glimpse of what's in store for us in the near future http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DetnKgOxrSI
Right now i'm revisiting older games like Mafia and The chronicles of Riddick:Escape from butcher bay. All setting maxed out, the way it was meant to be played.8)
Amazing, you must need a super computer to run that mart!

Indeed, they were using the new quad-core processor to run the demo. I think you'll also need Windows Vista to run that game. So i do not think we'll be playing that game anytime soon!
How much are the new AMD Quad Core processors?

Now thats some cool stuff Mart and the new computer I'm getting will be out of date in a year......jeeeeeeesh:shock:
Finished gears of war in 4 days and cost me £40 to buy, very clever game but didnt last long enough, but the online play does give it longevity
buy Medieval Total War 2, absolutly killer. You can do almost anything, play as England and take over the Russia or hire assassins and go and murder the pope himself in the vatican city! A bunch of laughs and reshape history, theyve got a turn based strategy mode which gives Civilisation 4 a run for its money!

Seriously, go and buy it...ive only had it for 4 days and im still playing on the same campaign and i havnt changed teams yet, just been playing as England, the games are extremely long but they are extremely fun.

Been playing Gears of War on the XBOX 360 pretty impressed takes the genre to a new level, Im a big Counterstrike fan to:p
Uggh yeah dude, unfortunately if you mixed an alcoholic and drug abuser into one person, you'd have Danny D and his game addiction. I'm pathetic with this...seriously.
Gears of War was a let down for me. Graphics were incredible, but seriously think about this....how many games just like it do we already have? All they keep doing is improving the graphics for titles that have already been released under different names using different characters. Gear of War online was pathetic I thought. This is where I was hoping the game would have been great, but it left me feeling flat and yet again, ripped off by the hype. My current favorites are Chromehounds (the best fighting game I've ever played...don't buy it, your life will stop as you know it.) Test Drive, Saints Row, Call of Duty 3, and Rainbow 6 Vegas.
For PS2, all the grand theft auto games, Gran turismo 3, and Bully are in my constant rotation. Regular Xbox....too many titles to list. :)
For those of you contemplating a PS3, let me give you a good review. I'll just say this...if you don't have an Xbox 360, get it instead. I spent 2 days playing PS3 with every available game title they have out at this time. One of my best friends owns a video game store and gave it to me to try out with about 10 game titles. I see no drastic improvements on anything. I didn't get a chance to play it online, but the offline play and games offered were mediocre at best and I'd rather stick with a console that has been tried, tested and has many games to offer. PS2 was one of the worst online experiences a gamer could ever want. I hate the fact that I have to pay $50 a year for my xbox live account, but you truly do get what you pay for.
I have every game system known to man. Pong, atari, colleco vision, intellivision, sega genesis, sega CD, sega saturn, NeoGeo, Dreamcast, turbo graphx 16, nintendo, super nintendo, nintendo 64, PS1 and 2, PSP, regular xbox, and xbox 360. That's quite a lot of game systems, don't you think? If I totalled up what I spent in games for all these systems and included the game consoles themselves, I think I'd have a heart attack at how much I've spent on this little addiction. I'm sure some of you are in the same boat.
That said, as much as I'm into games, I'd recommend the 360 if you are into consoles. If you're not, go the pc route. The only reason I do the console thing over pc gaming is due to needing my pc's for music. Don't waste your money on a PS3 guys...trust me, for what they are charging for the sytem and the games, you'll get more enjoyment and consistency from an Xbox 360. Take it from a guy who has a serious game addiction. :)

Thanks Danni for that info I had been looking at the PS3 but wasn't overly exicited by some other feedback I've heard so yeah it looks like a new Xbox will be parked under my tree........and by the way hope all is well with you, and a nice ripper of a tune would be nice if you could bless us with one...

I forgot about the Sega CD. I had one of those. I was unstoppable at Mortal Kombat II. Meleena was my character and no one could beat me. For those that would say, "Her teleport was easy to defend". I rarely used it.
Thanks for reminding me of that Danni.

i used to play video games a lot but i grew out of it. then my friends tried hard to get back into it and tried to drag me in. we played a game called Champions Return to Arms. it's fun but i can't stay up late anymore to play. we tried to play Phantasy Star Online but as soon as we got into it and made good characters, we found out they don't host the game online anymore. how pointless and a waste of money that was. we're trying to find a game now that we can actually play online, otherwise we're not going to do much more with v.games. i am actually thinking of trying to speak out more this time and choose the next game. we used to also play James Bond a lot, and that was always fun.

i gotta say i prefere the keyboard and mouse route for my games! i love my shooters, currently playing Prey and Bioshock. I like to play painkiller online along with fear. unfortunaltely dont own the orange box yet but will be great to get back on with Tfc2! non pc times spent on psp (mainly cos i dont have enough money to buy a good gaming laptop!
