the band name is

EndFusioN

I am going to make this the thread to keep track of all my happenings with this project, I had discussed with Rick putting it on forum somewhere, until it has its own home, this will do I imagine. feel free to comment or ask any questions, this is up for assistance to others, or examples of what not to do (hopefully that wont happen) in the industry and where we are in it!

enjoy brethren!

My old sax player is feeling his oats again and wants to get back into the scene, our town is small, but we will give it a go, its just me and him and backing tracks, which has several benefits, we make more money per member, and there is only the two of us to worry about showing up on time, and the drummer, bassist, and other instruments, well they are digital, so they dont question anything, show up late, or borrow stuff lol
I am thinking of utting a log of events in this forum, as it will mostly be about the gigs and how we go aboutu everything, kind of like a friendly instruction manual. W are essentially starting from scratch, and this will be guitar and sax mostly, vocals on rare days. If there is a better place, let me know, I am stoked.
included is a track we did about a year to a year and a half ago, I actually acquired permission from Vinnie Moore to use the track, because we think its good enough, (not that it wasnt already we just added more) for radio or something.

This guy has much equipment, and a video studio even, but we had a need for something to just blindly record our sessions, in discussions over the phone a couple low end models were talked about, for 200-500 dollars, I steered him away from everything that had a memory card, and pushed him towards a hard drive recording tascam, these are great for just keeping track of sessions, they record up to 15 hours, and are easily transported in wav to pc, so he is off today getting one of those, for 399 from guitar center. Alot of bang for the buck, we only need a few more small things to become full production, to link up his midi and other gear, then we can really dig in for days at a time.
There is a new bar openingn in town here, and all the bands are haggling to get in the door as a house band, so our plan at the moment is to produce a product that will blow them all out the door, and place us at the head of the line. this wont be hard to do now, we can just run him through a few sets of songs and put on a great show, we have the lighting and everything to make it very professional. After we accomplish a permanent gig somewhere for awhile we are off to Vegas and pushing our ideas there, casino/blues/progressional rock should make for an interesting combonation, at least the way we do it.

well the new toy has proven to be better than previously thought, it is capable of 128 hours, and it has a three year, unlimited warranty from our friends at GC, no matter what happens to it, we get it replaced. We spent all night working on the finer details and now we are set up to walk in, lay a 4-16 hour session on digital wav format, and then it can be converted to pc via usb. Well on our way to getting a set list created.

Great song. I think the backing vocal works well. It could be a little tighter as delayed, but cool.

Good luck.

yesterday was productive, spent about 7 hours going over and over the same tracks, getting things down for a show to be taped and posted soon! today we tried out a keyboardist, seems like some good magic there as well . . . more soon!

Old Sax player? Old Sax player! Just kidding. Hi guys I just got registered to the site, And thought I'd see what's going on. I see my bud is sharing our Mesh a little. I've only been wetting the reed a short time and your impute is nice. Thanks Zeusse. I must say I'm a little out of my realm. Sax players and Guitar players often find themselves at sorts with each other. Petruccis_shadow and I have found our self's on a common ground meshing the two egos with the blend of Jazzy blues Funk ret-roe psychedelic New age Mumbo jumbo, and are coming up with some pretty sweet mood altering ear candy. Ya I agree the mix still needs some work. We are still gathering toys, concepts, players, and such. I am also working on the visual side of the spectrum and choreographing lighting and EFX. Got some new Plasma light tubes that are awesome. So hopefully in time we will have the total package to present.
Thanks your impute is nice. :nana:

the profile is still in the works, but there is a video there of a new track, we primarily use backings from the net, till we get the whole group together, which as it stands right now, only needs a bassist, and a keyboardist, the keyboardist we had, he may be returning after having gone on a trip, but we shall see. enjoy the video, its low quality, has a ticking glitch for some reason, but it gives further ideas on where we are headed. thx!

Sounding pretty good there. I liked the track a lot, great vocals, guitar and sax too. The mix needs a bit of work I guess but it's definitely coming together in a very good way.

That was very very good you guys! I love the sound of the saxophone (also a lot of fusion guitarists use saxophone lines in their playing!)

Well, time for a brief update, its been a long haul with my job and such, havent had much time to play. We brought it a drummer, and a bassist, then the drummer flaked, but all is yet to be seen, we have another coming to check it out soon I think. now we have kind of turned a new leaf already and begun pulling away from the backing trakcs, which is a good goal, but have to now find a comfort zone. chops are getting better all the way around, for everyone, and a new song we are working on now, has great promise, as soona s it is ready, you all will most likely be the first to hear it. ta ta for now, ill be back again soon.

this is a new song we have been drilling a bit, I changed careers again lmao now I drive test cars for honda, prototypes and such, and it gives me a little more time to do my other job!! lol keep in mind it is by no means a finished product, but I think it gives a good feel for what we are aiming for now. trying out a nother drummer this week sometime, and we have bassist and keyboard player permanent now. I think this is like a new feel and horizon for me, some of my same old runs, but application was a big deal on it ,with all the build up parts especially. I know at this point, that the levels are not right where I wish them to be, I threw this up for any advice or comments, other than that, enjoy the listen!

this file is a WMA (windows media audio file) as I still do not have the mp3 conversion bit going on yet, (I reformatted again :drunk: )

I can totally relate to that whole sax-player thing.
I have always liked saxophone playing, and found inspiration in sax-solos for my guitar work... I generally find that sax players are far more 'interesting' and 'eloquent' in their phrasing than most guitar players (perhaps because most guitarists are firmly based in pentatonic boxes).
Eventually I decided to also pick up the alto saxophone myself... I still suck at it, but I may eventually use some sax on my own tracks :)

this guy, Nate, playing sax for me, he has just purchased his 44th saxaphone lol a black chrome cannonball big bell, and man is it a sexy sounding beast hahahaha next time i post this or other tracks, it will most likely feature that model. I have also noticed that usually a lead guitarist and a sax player usually have a hard time mixing well, but me and Nate have seemed to have find a very good level of playing music where we dont feel like we are stepping on the other, though in rehearsal, we step all over each other, but thats all part of creating what we want to hear. Ultimately, I think its one of the best things to happen to my playing, and the sax is definately more eloquent by default lol

included is a track we did about a year to a year and a half ago, I actually acquired permission from Vinnie Moore to use the track, because we think its good enough, (not that it wasnt already we just added more) for radio or something.

Can I ask what steps you took to contact Vinnie to use the track? I had someone ask me in one of my threads how to go about using a cover and I have never had to do this. Any help would be appreciated...thanks!

petruccis_shadow
07-04-2007, 06:44 PM
YES! sax is far more eloquent by default, and Nate is the first horn player in my 25 years of guitar that fits with my style, we have found what often feels like new territory, the new bassist, and keyboardist seem to have the right flavor as well, and the drummer is going to fit in I am sure too. I will know more in about ten days or less, depending on schedules.

Well Danny, (nice to see you so active and present here btw) I contaced The Vinman through his own forum, as he is quite active in it, it can be linked to from his official website, for "Rain", his friends were a little irritated that I was not writing "my own stuff" but when all was said and done, Vinnie was ok with what I was doing as long as he is to receive royalties. I had some lengthy chat with his forumites, but he was quick and to the point, something to the effect of "go ahead, use it, make me lots of money" haha he is a truly busy guy and I found it great that he took the time to visit his forum as often as he does. I had told him that it was not my point to say that his song is not good enough, it is a masterpiece as most guitarists know, but only that I was just adding what I heard in the track itself when I listened to it.

coming from Danziland, that means much. We have worked hard at pulling away from backing tracks, and now we are just writing material, but we always have tracks to fall back on.

we pulled in a second guitarist, so this will make things move along faster, the really neat thing, is that he is from my own area that I grew up in, and we have some amazing compatabilities, he has a good head on his shoulders and listens well. He is currently learning the track posted, and we will be moving onto new material and structures this sunday.

well, it never ceases to amaze me, the amount of people a band can go through in such a short time, but now again we have a decent line up, all but a drummer, but the new keyboard player is competent anough on keys to run rhythm as well, so now we are preparing for a gig in three weeks, I will try to have it filmed, and posted on youtube, primarily for this thread.

we have a complete lineup, and here we were rehearsing for this gig, and new info hits the blogs and such about american idol having a band contest next round . . . we are very excited about it and hope to get the fast track with help from the tv, even if we dont win, we get something lol and it will be some great experience! We have 11 songs now we are polishing for demos and all that, I will post them as they are available.
