Hi,

I appologise for making my first post here a sale, but I'm a bass player first and foremost.

I want to sell my Les Paul Standard, and as you can imagine, there aren't many bass players I know who want it, so a friend of mine who comes here suggested I try here.

It was a gift from my wife two christmases ago, when I was a guitarist in a band, but having done a few gigs with it, I quit the band, and really it hasn't seen the light of day since.

It's Les Paul Standard, Root Beer flame top, with Burstbuckers which sound just fabulous, especially for the blues stuff I was playing back then. Neck pickup, roll back the treble a bit, and it's just blues heaven.

There's hardly a mark on it, just a couple of tiny marks you can barely find at all. No major scratches or dings. The nickel is tarnished slightly in places, but other than that it's mint, and unplayed in at least a year.

It's always kept in its Gibson black reptile skin case, and never left out, it just sits in the corner of the bedroom, it's just a waste, and I hope to finance a new bass by selling it.

I've lemonoiled the neck, and fitted a new set of D'Addario 10s, but I guess it could do with a setup, while polishing it, I've moved the setting on the tune-o-matic bridge, so you'll need to set it how you want it.

I'm after £800 ono.

Thanks for looking.

Russ.

Thanks for that. It's taken some convincing my wife that it's a good idea. She bought it for me, and was a bit upset when I mentioned selling it, but she saw sense in the end.

It's just gathering dust, so I hope someone will want it.

that is a very handsome guitar mate, I'm not flush for a couple of months but would consider making an offer then if you still have it.

That's a bargain, exactly the same as my Gold Top but without the dent! It really should go at that price!

Well I thought I'd sold it, but after waiting 3 weeks for a cheque, my buyer informs me that he's skint  , so here are some more pics:

The last picture shows the tarnishing to the nickel, other than that, it's virtually mint, with hardly a mark on the finish, just a couple of tiny ones that you struggle to find, no buckle rash.

Still £800 ovno.

Cheers,

Russ.

Nice LP, I'm not normally a fan of them but that is one of the better looking ones I've seen so far.

What's with the B string not in its bridge saddle?

I hadn't noticed that, the strings have litterally just gone on, and aren't even up to tune, so I guess I missed it when putting them on.

Just went and had a look, you're right, it wasn't in the slot properly, it is now.

Thats a great looking gibson. I recently sold a les paul classic which was a tobacco sunburst that I thought that looked the biz, but this one is way more attractive.

I use to have one very similar to that one that I should have kept about 5years ago but it was a little darker in tone...the sunburst I have just sits in the case I'm too chicken to use it...so I can't buy anymore guitars I can't play the crap out of so the wife sais...LOL....that one is sweet though
