Yngwie Malmsteen is arguably the most technically accomplished hard rock guitarist to emerge during the '80s. Combining a dazzling technique honed over years of obsessive practice with a love for such classical composers as Bach, and Beethoven, Malmsteen's distinctively Baroque, gothic compositional style and lightning-fast arpeggiated solos rewrote the book on heavy metal guitar. Don't miss this special gig at London's legendary rock venue.

Manchester wasn't too good

First he complained about the white lights being in his face and "Ruining my fucking vibe". Then in the middle of a song a string snapped and he just threw down his guitar at his guitar tech's feet.

Then to cap it all off, half way through first song after the encore, black star, all of the sound went, and only half of his amps were switched on, and after a few minutes of shouting at his tech he went to the mic and said "Thank you, goodnight"

No where near as good as Nottingham

poor fellow.. his level of perfectionism must get tested all the time when all he wants to do is put on a great show.

I've seen him 3 times in my life - twice within the last year or so. He certainly can get pissed off easily if things don't go his way. I would NEVER subject myself to being his guitar tech!

The last 2 shows I saw him though - there were no technical glitches so he had no on-stage fits. He was brilliant. The first of these shows though was opened up by George Lynch. He had technical difficulties and he actually pulled an "Yngwie" on stage and cut his set short.
