No forum for actually discussing recording so I'll post it here.
How do you all record your "studio" tracks? Computer software? 4-track recorder? etc. If you use a PC what are your PCs specs? What's the minimum requirement for recording and mixing on a PC?

I generally use an older Tascam 4-track recorder (to cassette).
I have Cakewalk for the PC but when I record on my PC, playback tends to sound warped.

I use audition to.
it's not to difficult to use it in sort of simple mode.
I.E you can plug in and import a backing track and record on it really easily infact with like 3 mouse presses.
it also does loads more ofcourse.
khaos seems to be pretty up on it's features damn he even makes my playing sound good :)

We use N-Track Studio, which has PC based 8 track recording. You have to register the software after 40 days of trial. Has lot of mixing features and you can import wave files. Our PC is a Pentium 4, 2.66 Mhz with 512 Ram. Records using a simple dynamic mic or a more professional model can be used. P3 is a minimum with this software.
