Elixir "nanoweb" strings

Sorry to bring it back to strings again but...... I'm thinking of getting some Elixir "nanoweb" strings (9's). They are pricey (about ?????????12) but are suposed to last for ages (2 to 3 times longer lasting!) Has anyone here tried them?

I used these strings for a few months back in the day and found out they are a waste of money. Sure the bass strings will resist sweat and corroision but the trebble strings are still exposed, and it is most definetely the trebble strings that corrode and cause you to change your strings most of the time anyway (unless you break a string).

The best strings imho are D'addario's. You should be able to buy at least two packs for the price of some Elixers and you can heve some fresh steel anytime you feel like it. The only time I would reccomend Elixers is if you absolutely hate changing strings or something. Otherwise your trebble's will be dead and your bass's will feel like they have a thick coating of crap on them, and they actually fray after about a week anyway. So it is my opinion that Elixer strings are absolutely useless and expensive.

Another usefull tip; If you break and Elixer EA or D you have to buy a whole pack to replace it.

i love DR's, they seem to have a little more sustain than d'addario's. I use d'addario mostly tough, good price

And I suppose the instructions say "To prevent finger damage from the very strong packaging, get a 10's user to open the packet for you (or your Mum if a 10's user isn't handy)"?
