Well done everyone! It is a priveledge to be in this challenge. A shout for Davey for (I believe) his first post! Nice job!

I had to vote for Eric because that song brings back a lot of fond memories of fun times. War Pigs=fun times? What a paradox!

I'm going with Zombo's Iron Man it was close with Andy's killer Paranoid but John I think captured the essence of the classic the best

I agree Norman. Zeusse's was a standout. I did find it hard to choose though. Everyone did well. Had a to listen to Visco's twice because the first time I kept laughing.

Only 10 votes so far. Let's get to voting!

I finally got around to listening to the rest of these today... it would appear that my internet connection has speeded up like Virgin Media said it would. It seems to be about ten times quicker, I couldn't believe just how quick these tracks downloaded.

Anyway...

Zeusse.......... Superb playing, great singing and the quality & character of you guitar sound was exceptional.

Visco.......... Excellent playing from you as I have come to expect these days. That Zoom G9.2tt of yours is certainly pumping out some great sounds and this example was no exception. The funny vocals added an element of humour too.

Zombo........ Very well done. As Eric said... this really captured the essence of this Sabbath classic. Can't fault it!

GP............. You played this very well and the character of your guitar sound fitted the bill perfectly but... was it just my PC playing silly buggers or was it very slow? Great effort all the same and I'm always delighted to see you taking part... you're a great contributor!

Davey......... Great to see you joining in so soon and a cracking first effort! Did you say you had never played lead before? If so, let me tell you... it's hard to believe! There were a couple of minor timing issues but I know you're new to recording and you're bound to have suffered slightly from 'red button syndrome'. As with all of us you will improve with experience, so keep playing, keep hitting the red button and let's here more from you soon.

OK, a fair and balanced review I think. My vote on this occasion goes to Zombo because this was the one track which made me feel that I could actually have been listening to Black Sabbath.

A big thanks to all participants for taking the time and making the effort to make this site the great place that it is.

PS

Rep point to Davey for your first music post.

Yep Six, my track was slow. I did not notice it till I had finished making the BT. :wall: I just lived with the tempo.

Great challenge!

Hey guys haven't been here in awhile. Was listening to some of the Sabbath tunes you guys did. Very cool indeed. I wish I coulda attempted one. I have a question if you guys wouldn't mind me asking. The thing thats keeping from doing these contests (besides my crappy guitar playing lol) is that when I try to record over a backing track, it lags big time. I can't seem to figure out how to record so it's in time with the bt. I'm running through a Podxt-live. Record with audacity. I guess I'm not real sure how to set things up to do this. Any suggestions? Thanks guys and again nice job on the Sabbath tunes.

Might be worth you posting that question in a different area Rob. Quite a few of the guys use POD XT's so they shoudl be able to help but they might miss it in this thread.
