i know nothing about it and trying to get to know it, so any advice in great songs/ cds would be greatly appreciated :)

check on some of the posts by smt, a guitar tutor on my forum - he's into jazz stuff. Bought himself a wonderful Aria jazz guitar recently. I've only really got into BB King Bluesey/Jazz.

Well I don't listen to much jazz, but I do listen to a lot of fusion :D

So if you like fusion, you HAVE to own Extraction by Howe-Wooten-Chambers... It's really a must have ;)

Try some Electromagnets...that is a killer too.....Eric Johnson in it...

Jazz? Any Charlie Christian, Wes Montgomery, Chet Atkins, Kenny Burrell, Jimmy Smith, John Coltrane, Chick Corea, Miles Davis.....as a starting point
