Huh?? Four versions you can hear and one you can't and you voted for the one you can't hear? Interesting concept......
I thought that a vote was cast after listening to all of the contestants and expressing a preference for the one that you had considered to be the best entry.
Call me old fashioned but personally, I'll not be voting until I can actually hear what I am supposed to be voting on.
Out of curiosity.... did you listen to the others?
Farl
Man! That sounds bitchy LOL It is not meant to be Barry, I'm just curious.
PS... I added the track to post No. 1

Well, this time, I think I will say what I did not like as well as what I liked! A dangerous thing to do but it is all said with the best of intentions. Better to say what I really think rather than "Well done all" I think. Anyhow, at the risk of embarrasing myself.... here goes!
Bluesgeek - A very cool track that I have never heard before so, I have to judge it on it's own merit. Guitar wise, I thought it was very acomplished, the slide and the fills were great! Loved the first solo and the way the lead filled in the empty slots in the vox. I've heard you sing better though... LOL Had you been at the guiness?? LOL
Pete - A Shredded Tush!! Interesting. I don't normally like shred but found this mix of riffing and shred strangely alluring! The second solo suited my taste more than the first one though (I thought the first one was just a little too fast...) Overall though, nice one matey. The riffing tone and timing were spot on! I listened to it several times!
GP - As a guitaring work I really enjoyed it great riffage and lead but... the vox... hmmm... LOL I can't sing so I don't but heck man! That voice will give me nightmares! LOL (sorry matey!) As I said though, I loved the guitaring! The timing of the main riff was spot on and the solo at 1:12 was great man!
Zuesse - Honestly matey I loved it all bar one thing.... The lead line from 0:10 to 0:25 where it repeats 10 or 11 notes four times just sounded wrong. It is such a classic start that I just hear the original in my head and it is at odds with yours. But the section at 2:05 played at no. 11 in my house rattles the walls and had the hair standing up on the back of my neck. Again at 2:53! Spot on! Strangeley, I also liked your gravel like vox! Ha! So, after giving you a hard time about the start, this is one of the two I'm making my mind up about for my vote!
Having said all that, (and what do I know really?) I have to say that I was well impressed with the entries! Nice one chaps! I'll think on for a wee while then vote later.

Farl, i did in deed and I thought you all did well, but, as I thought BG nailed it and one of my fav ZZ tunes. I'm not that big on anything after "Tres Hombres" other than an obscure track here and there.

My vote is cast.
Well done everyone! They were all a treat to listen to.
No worries Farl. I know I can't sing but I did better than I usually do though. Actually I think it's good retribution being that mother gave me nightmares! LOL!

I'll echo pretty much all the above :) Though I didn't think GP's voice wasn't too bad - timing was just a bit off!
Loved Tush but shredding just ain't my bag baby ;)
And yeah that riff on Zeusse was just so close but it kept sounding wrong, might have been better to change it completely?
My vote went to Farl who made a great go at my fave of the later zztop track :D
Well done everyone, and give yourselves a pat on the back :D :cool1:
