because 6sh has gone down the pan performance wise we have today moved it to another, more stable server.
this gives vastly increased speed and should banish all the old gremlins.

one or 2 things will be unavailable for a short time.

this has gone really well, better than we could have dreamed.
gone are the following problems

short downloads.
inability to log out.
slow site speed.

ok current issues are.

shoutbox needs work so its tuned off
jamroom needs work so its turned off
arcade won't work so its turned off
recent topics and stuff does work but won't be online till a little later.
avatars seems a little dodgy, but we have backups so they'll be fixed later

this move is the springboard needed (for me anyway) to start things moving again here, i hope you all agree..

Thanks from all the 6sh team

avatars fixed and obviously recent topics etc are back now.

shoutbox will be back today and a couple of other really cool new features that i just couldn't get to work on the old server, but i know will work here.

we will be working on the jamroom but this will take a day or two

arcade should be back online today as well.

shoutbox is back, as is the arcade (canyoncarver)

if you scroll to the bottom of the main page you'll see that we finally have a radio station that works.
at the time of typing this you can listen to exactly what i'm listening to.

Well done Rick, I would imagine it's a major headache doing all that but you never let us down.

Three cheers for Rick.

i did next to nothing, zapp did most of the work, 6sh is a huge site to move.
and luckily he's been gradually moving it over the last few weeks.

I really like this color scheme, although you can tell that some of the buttons and smilies were designed for a lighter background.

Overall: Awesome...
