Here is a battle between me and Rick on Motorheads Ace of Spades,
it was done in a oner straight thru for the live feeling so excuse the mistakes.
I really recommend anyone too have a battle like this, just record it straight thru no overdubs or multi recording.

first to 10 wins this ok!

Well....overdubs and multi recordings are also a great way to show your capabilities not only in playing but also mixing.....$0.02.. :geek: Nice one on this Tony... :thumb:

well well well..... fair play to you both for the oner.... tony tone's was too much for my eardrums. ricks solo was nearer the original if slightly out of time. tony's ad lib solo was typical tony (hints of murray) both great... rick's rhythm playing has come on so much.. just needs to sharpen his solos re timing. I cant decide who to vote for.. it'll have to be tony cos of his time keeping.

ps. nice pick slide tony ;-)

hehehe i started the solo and was to slow then to fast so i slowed again then was out at a position change etc.

but it was cool to do, we just went for it i think its the first time i've even tried to play all way through it.

we may just be doing another shortly every body should try it by the way, rules are decide on a track and record it as quick as you can, no messing with it at all and it has to be recorded in 1 go as played live!
i errr think i might go ahead and learn it for real now.

Hell, Good stuff both of you but... I'll just edge towards Tony for slightly better clarity and a nice bit of freestyling in the solo. Nice rythm and a close battle though Rick.

That was really good stuff guys. Liked both versions but preferred Rick's sound and rhythm playing even if solo timing bit out still 10x better than me ...you guys as I've said before inspiring us all to try our hand at recording ourselves and learning perhaps tracks might not have though about trying.

My vote goes to Rick but Tony your plaing is awesome lad.

Cheers

OK - This brought back some LOUD painful memories of seeing Motorhead live. Great job by both guys - I really like the "LIVE" feeling of just going for it. I'll have to go for Rick simply because I prefer his tone for this tune.

I'm going with TOny on this one. It was said before in this thread but his sound was just a little clearer.

You guys are very evenly matched. Sounds Great!

Couldn't agree more with you if you viewed or even downloaded these tracks and didn't vote then you are sad man!!!!
This site is all about being active improving your playing and if you just take and don't contribute in anyway then you should be ashamed!!!
You always see the same ones doing guitar battles the same ones posting there music??
What is wrong with you it gets me so dissapointed with you, Rick spends hours on this site letting you all enjoy it and some haven't even got the decency to use there mouse and click to vote!!!!!!!
If you read this and are one of the above then please think about it it takes 3 weeks to cast 10 votes that is well sad ??????

Just listened to these tracks.... I like Ricks tone very much, but decided on the solo for the votes....

And after voting, I wanted to vote again.... You both are very close to each other!

I went with Tony on this. I don't know what gave him the little extra edge but it had the better feel to it. But that was some kickass playing on both your parts. Its a cool concept.

Wow, like both of em quite a lot. The guitars sound so like 80s. Personally I would have gone for a more actual kind of distortion, fatter , but I guess that depends on your personal taste. Not saying I didn't like it, no, in fact, a very nice approach to the song.

Anyway, think I'm going for Tony's one too, I felt his playing. Good stuff both of ya, congrats!
