Hi I finally got all the parts together for my new box. I was wondering what to expect when I hit the power. Meaning,..I have a copy of Windows XP lite downloaded from GuitarBlast that bluesplayer put up on the file share forum. It's now burnt as an ISO. Everyone seemed to like this XP Lite and said it works just fine.

I didn't see any EXE when I did this. How do I get this to install on the new computer. It's never had any OS on it because it's new,..LMAO. Anyway,..how is this done or what do I need to do to get this XP lite onto this machine. I'm sorry,..but I never did this before. The machine has an External USB DVD/CD rom drive or it has an internal CD rom also. Any help would be great that anyone can share with this mystery.
Thanks man!

go into the bios, usually either f2 or delete on boot up
and tell it to boot from cd first.

My way into the BIOS is the DEL key. But, what Rick said.

Here ya go guys!

Windows XP Lite .
Type: Application

Ok . This is XP with all the shit taken out . I appreciate Vista is probably the norm these days but i still love XP for its reliablitly The guy slimmed it down nice and small . I have been using this for months without any issues . Its complete with SP 2 and loads up SP3 without any chew . I reccomend it .

I have uploaded it for Geordie mainly but thought it would be cool to offer it out whatever .

Here is the link : http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9DHN0VJE

And here below is the details more fully detailed .

This is a fully functional version of XP Corporate. (100% tested) Features and non-features include (but not limited to):

Sick of bloat? read on.
Full unattended install.(after initial blue screen boot up BS, sit back and relax)
No cd key required.(built in)
No activation.
NO INTERNET EXPLORER!(have a cd ready with your favorite browser on it if you want to surf) hint:Firefox
All drivers have been retained.
All networking components intact.
No balloons pop ups.
TCP/IP Patch installed(allowing 100 connections, as opposed to the default 10 in winXP SP2,which may help bittorrent speeds)
NO "send error messages to microsoft"
NO help BS.
No "microsoft" windows updates.(MS Updates appears on start menu, just delete it)if you want updates, go to http://www.petri.co.il/ or http://windowsupdate.62nds.com/ F*ck Bill.
All language packs and support have been removed except for English.
Administrative Tools was added to My Computer, for EZ access.
Numerous other tweaks were added.

I tested this version on a PC with only 256 MB RAM, and it absolutely FLEW!
Has all MS updates as of March 06.

On a side note, this is the perfect OS for the person who uses a second computer for gaming.(after install, xp was only using 100MB RAM!)

All in all, I reduced a 590MB bloatware piece of sh*t, to a sweet,(295MB) hassle free version of XP.

Have fun .

Hmmm, sounds like the type of OS I'd like to have. I honestly don't need all the garbage associated with Windows and I really don't need all the freakin' software that comes with a store bought PC. When I got the computer I'm using now, it's a Fujitsu, the first thing I did when I got home was wipe out the hard drive and reinstalled Win XP only. I didn't even fudge with the other discs that came with it. Only thing I really installed at that time was a pirated copy of Office XP in English that a friend sent to me.

My PC is beginning to get quirky now though so it looks like a wipe out and reinstall are in order. I'd really like to do it BEFORE I buy my interface for recording. I'd like a blank hard drive and full power when I start getting into this recording stuff.

Yeah man,..then this is for you!
It's really a nice XP version. Just finished installing it and it flys. Doesn't have any bullshit on it at all. After I installed it I went to add and remove programs,..and it's empty! Click on the Start button and selected All Programs and the only thing that comes up is Windows Media player,.note pad and the Accessories tab has the usuals in it. but no games or anything thats worthless. This is a stripped down version for sure. It's great for DAW's. This is what im using it for only. No internet no nothin but recording. If ya wanna use it as an internet machine I would download Firefox or a good browser like that. Very fast version here. No install issues at all. I know it can be updated,..but you need MUblinder (http://www.p2plife.com/forums/Official_muBlinder_Page-t320.html)
(Microsoft Updates Blinder) and this will get you around it.
