I get a Fasel inductor today and excited to put it in. I find lots of info before I beging. I record the original sound to have a comparison. I take the wah apart and one of the input jacks is broken! Ahhhhh!!!

Well, I'm not putting a broken peice back in. Now I have to wait even longer til I get an input jack. Hopefully tommorow.

I've never done this kind of work before. I know how to solder and am good at fixing things so this is an adventure.

i hate it when all your anticipation is tempered by a simple thing that you can't do anything about.

Life is but a series of tests for us to endure and overcome.

You'll get there, then it will have been worth the wait!

Damn, thats a bummer man! The fasel inductor sounds very good so everything will be worth it in the end.
The best thing I've done however, mainly because it cost nothing and was very easy, was to alter the frequency range for the wah manually.

Easy to do, just open the back cover, unscrew the screw that fastens a white piece of plastic to the base. This white plastic bit should be applying a force to a black plastic rod attached to the potentiometer. Once you've unscrewed it, move the plastic rod back and turn the potentiometer's cog by hand to your desired position.

Then simply put everything back together again! This process can take a while as it takes some time to find your sweet spot.

It's a really simple mod in theory. When you rock your wah pedal, the factory's default frequency range should go from Mid-High. Personally, I hate hearing a load of highs with a wah pedal, so by altering the potentiometer I set the frequency range of my wah to go from Very Low-Mid. By using this, it is very easy to achieve a satriani style wah which is very deep and throaty! Not bad for a £30 wah!

I might post this mod guide again with pics and sound clips later on! It's too easy to be true and can drastically change your wah sound.

I found that one out by accident. I took that thing off so I could clean it with contact cleaner. When I put it back together, I noticed the frequencies were to high. I realized what was going one and solved it by trial and error.

I saw online somewhere you can get a backplate with a battery door. I normally just plug it in but have used it with batteries. If I can't find the jack around town, I'll order it from the place I saw that backplate. That's if I can find it again. LOL!

I did this with my EVH wah a few weeks back. I only turned the cog thingy about 4 ridges back but it made a total difference in the arch. Much better like this.

It's a little bit difficult. If I find it to hard, I can set it on a cctv I have and just watch it on the screen as I work on it. My vision is not incredibly horrible. I can't read what I'm typing unless I use reading glasses. My problem is mostly periphreal. If you put a penny on the floor, I won't be able to tell it's a penny. I probably won't see it if it's color is similiar to the floor. You could put another penny 7 or 8 inches next to it and I probably won't see it at all. Unless I get lucky and notice it. Luckily, my son helps me find my guitar picks when I drop them. LOL! A good trade off. I help him with his homework and he finds my picks. LOL! On a good note, He is 7 in 2nd grade and I have him going with the basics for algebra.

__5+x=10
-5__=-5
____x=5

simple but he gets it.

The school is not teaching it too him. I thought I'd take a chance and see if he gets it. He did but I have to keep reminding him, "what you do to one side of the =, you have to do it to the other".

Had to order the part. Now I have to wait a few more days.
