So finally got this thing....

and its a monster!!!!!!

Played around with it for about 2 hours now, and it definitely sounds the best infront of an amp... although it has the Cab Simulated output, and it sounds fine using it straight into the mixing board, i found that the sound is a bit too hollow and lacks "balls" so to say. So running straight into the clean channel of the amp gave me the best results so far.

Gain... this thing is all about the gain. And it delivers that sooooo well... its not fuzzy like some of the stomp boxes i heard, and definitely has that tube amp feel to it, the distortion is very smooth and kinda loose(think mesa double recto sound)

The ISF feature is fun to play with, at 0 the distortion gets an American voicing, at 10 it gets british voicing... and you can go anywhere in between. Changes in Mids and Bass are awesome when playing with that.

I also noticed that its like impossible to make this thing sound bad, whatever you do, it still sound good. I still need to mess around with settings to get "my" sound, but i think im getting close.

So without further delay, here is 2 demo sounds i recorded.

Set up:
For Enter Sandman :Ibanez>Blackstar>Peavey bandit 112(80's model)>recorded with M-Audio condenser mic

For After life i just changed the guitar to the ESP

yep nice, the after life demo sounds probably double awesome.
you like a pretty bottom heavy, 'HEAVY' sound.
can you do something taking some of the mids and bass out?

here you go rick, scooped the mids out, took out some bass and added a bit of treble... also turned the ISF towards the american voicing a bit more

that thing is pretty heavy.

i was checking youtube out earlier and it seems to be a great piece of kit.

You are spot on about impossible to make sound bad last 2hrs just been doing the same with my HT dual and it sounds good no matter what you do. weird how I eventually settled the eq settings almost identical to my amp eq's  anyway have fun

Great review and some even better sound clips there Andy. Sure does sounds like a monster pedal. Seems to have given you a kick in the mojo area too. :-)

Enjoy!!!

I would like to A/B the dist-x and dual side by side. The distortion sounds superb on teh dist-x adn it would be perfect if it had 2 channels like the dual infact a 3 channel would be the best where you could set a crunch for rhthym channel 2 for solos and 3 for those heavier moments....am I dreaming...must be
