OK John, I can take a hint! So, I have a couple of hundred quids spare what recording kit should I get?? Any suggestions from anyone would be helpful. Then you can hear just why I joined this site and haven't posted anything yet! :oops:

Hey Farley hey I didn't want to get on your case it's just that we'd love to hear some stuff from you I speak for all the lads!
If you want to do it the cheap way then get adobe auditon and if your effect unit has an output then go right into your soundcard or mic it ?
I use a mixer plugged into a 20 bit A/D soundcard from Lexicon via USB!
I would love to do a collab with you sometime get in touch with some of the lads there in England they may be able to help you more ?

Right then! I havn't even heard myself recorded for about 30 years!! (seriously) I only play for a "bit of fun" but, tonight, just for a laugh, I recorded some of my inane rubbish on a dictaphone (no jokes please rick) and it was quite a laugh!! so what the hell, I'll find some way of recording and posting in the next couple of weeks! but, seriously, I may have a posh (PRS Brazillian custom 24) guitar (amongst others!) but... I'm not very accomplished but just love playing what I can so, you'll find out just how poor I am at playing soon enough!

Yep, an old tape philips, appaling sound! :lol: Hell you never know, I just might learn something other than Wonderwall in the next couple of weeks! :D E-bay next to see what they have but I'm not sure whether to get a stand alone recorder or a PC based (adobe or something similar) piece of kit. Decisions, decisions!

Now then, I am thinking of getting a Boss BR8 (e-bay!). Has anyone got any exprience of these? PC based kit will be no good as I can rarely get near my home PC!

Also looking at a BOSS BR-864 8 track.

Now then, I have managed to buy a BOSS BR-864 8 track digital recording thingy of e-bay so, it should arrive in a couple of days!! but...... its "V" this weekend at Chelmsford and I have tickets!! so I wont get started just yet and...... I live on a farm so, on top of my 8am to 6pm day job I'll get home in the evenings to help in the harvesting of 200 acres of wheat!! Then..... Its Reading next weekend and I have tickets!!! so I figure it will be early September before I get to touch it but.... I go to Spain on the 8th for a week!! Hell life is complicated but I'm not complaining, those long winter nights are heading our way.....

Farley I drove down to Paul Gilbert gig in Liverpool then drove all the way back and got home at 3.05am...just enough time for a quick loo break then onto 6 string to for quick check of posts from gig. I must admit I was so high I had a quiet session inspired by Mr Gilbert
