Hye,

I went to Music Live at the NEC recently and saw a nice acoustic guitar that I really fancied. It was an Adam Black 07ce (Fishman 4 classic pickup and good hardware/build quality). it was a quality instrument for little money or so I thought.
The tag said special show price - £250
I was really tempted but already had bought a mic stand, guitar stand and Digitech Loopman pedal (great little pedal by the way)and couldn't really carry any moe so I didn't buy it, thank God!!

Went on to the Rossetti site (distributors) to check out dealers when I got home and suggested retail price was £250 (Same as the so called special show price - what a rip off)
Then I checked dealeras and found it at £199 on a couple of sites, then Ebay and I have just bought one for under £150 including postage.
Moral is don't believe the lies at shows but check the price before you go (My other buys were good bargains (pro mic stand at £29, Loopman at £160)

Wise words.

I didnt go this year as I was doubtful that I would get what I was after any cheaper from the show. I normally do some research and go to the show with a shopping list and prices in mind. That way you know whether you are getting a real deal or not.

Cool that you got a new guitar and some gear tho.

A friend of mine has an Adam Black electric, kinda quirly looking thing, but the build quality is excellent and it plays and sounds very nice.

That happened to me once, bought a guitar at the London show for a so called special price, got home and checked the web site of the dealer concerned and it was £30 cheaper, I moaned but only managed to get a credit note out of them.

Next time I'll check the prices before I go to a show, and I avoid that particular dealer as well now.
