When I used to DJ, many moons ago, I got to recognise tracks just by the very tiniest of snippets from the intro.

So try your ears on these, All very well known in their time. There are no cover versions as far as I know, maybe one, but thats pretty obvious.

20 Intros, 20 Artists and Songs. A point for the Artist and a point for the song. So 40 Points in all.

PM me your answers.

All just for a bit of fun. closes in 24 hours from time of post

I'll pop up a league table of entrants and points.

I'll do another 'Rock Special' after this one,

I'm pretty sure I can get about 16 of them. There is a contest like this, or there used to be, called the "song scramble" on a local radio station.

We used to have a similar thing on a Radio station here too. I used to listen to it in the Car when travelling around then always miss the answers as I had reached my destination. then I would have tunes drving me nuts for days !! :-)

Looks like a draw, thanks for having a go fellas.

Here are the answers :-

Aerosmith - Love In An Elevator
Alice Cooper - Welcome To My Nightmare
Fleetwood Mac - Go Your Own Way
Hendrix - All Along the Watchtower
Cameo - Word Up
Slade - Mama Were All Crazy Now
T.Rex - Jeepster
Spyro Gyra - Morning Dance
Benny Hill - Ernie
Van Halen - Jump
Rick James - Superfreak
Bad Company - Cant Get Enough
AC/DC - Thunderstruck
Men At Work - Who Can It Be Now
Danny Danzi - Welcome (1st track on Danziland)
Bob Marley - Jammin'
Yes - Heart Of the Sunrise
Black Sabbath - Paranoid
David Bowie - Ashes to Ashes
Peter Garbriel - Sledgehammer

The no covers, bar one, was of course the Hendrix track being originally a Bob Dylan song. The MC Hammer was of course a sample from the Rick James track Superfreak.

Much Kudos to those that got bad company from a single drum hit. Must be a classic.
