luckily for this forum i updated the the phpbb software last week, just in time as it seems there is a worm using the google search engine to spread itself.
the worm infected around 40,000 boards before google stopped the search.
1 board in particular that was affected was jemsite
visitors may have noticed that there has been 1 guest on this board almost constantly this was being caused by the worm, after it had attacked the board to the sum total of over mb I blocked the googlebot ip from visiting here.
if you come by this board and are using phpbb less than version 2.0.11 upgrade it as soon as you can.
it is highly likely that a mutation of the worm will appear.
