I recently helped my friends move becuase they had a fire in their apt. Luckily there was little lost even though the house is unlivable. He has several guitars that were in the room's closet that got the most damage but I can't decide. Is he lucky his guitar is ok or should I whack him for letting it get so out of sorts.

A 1964 Gibson Custom Byrdland. (http://home.provide.net/~cfh/gibson4.html) Original owner. Just Scroll down a bit. That's all I could find on it.

His other guitar was an early 80s model Gibson Explorer. Not quite in as bad as shape as the Byrdland.

Here is the guitar.

Other than it needing some serious TLC, it's in pretty good shape.

Mate! What a find! Ha! I have always wanted to turn up something like that but hey... haven't we all... LOL

I guess that is what they now call the Byrdland Florentine?

Farl

Oh... BTW... yes, kick his arse for letting it get like that!

Yep! it's a Byrdland Florentine. I tried several times to put it in my wife's car. lol!

I forgot to mention that the guitar belongs to Mike. My buddy who sings for me ocasionally. It might be a bad idea to whack him or kick his butt for letting that guitar get so out of hand. I may defer, on the sly, to his girlfriend to handle it for me. :-)

Oh man if I saw that all burnt up I would weep for days. Just look how close it got by the look of the pickups?

Stunning guitar and to be the original owner is simply amazing.
