My Digitech GNX4 has fried...HELP!
I was just sitting down with my box of wine and a microphone to give Tony's Four Horseman tune some vocals and the computer crashed and smoke was rising from my Digitech GNX4.....Yep it shorted and fried...its toast....
Well after 3years of flawless performance from the thing it has fried for recording....here's what happened
On the back where the usb plugs in it finaly decided today it was going to short out and fry everything...and Zeusse knew this would eventually happen.
Part of the problems
1. The design of the location of the power jack, usb ,xlr, line jacks are all too close to the ground...when the unit is sitting on the floor.
2. For more than three years I have played the crap out of this thing but unfortunately I have cats that like to chew power cables so I have to put everything away everytime I finish(way more than most people do)
3. Last year my cats chewed through about 4 cables and I freaked out at the kids who use my computer in my studio and then leave the door open when they finish....little punks
4. It has been trashed and kicked on the floor of a lot of gigs....once again the design of the back where the jacks are is poor
5. I was too lazy and busy all at the same time to get the house renovation done to move into the new studio to end these kind of issues.
Some solutions:
1. Get rid of the cats.....I'm just waiting for them to accidently get run over in the driveway but they never leave the house anymore...lazy animal
2. Give the associated costs to my kids to teach them a lesson.....they'll be slaving around here from now on.
3. Build the new studio....gonna start in two weeks...little late though
4. See if I can get one of my overpaid techy buddies to fix the damm thing.......now we'll see if they are as smart as they get paid to be
5. Start shopping for a new unit......Maybe I'm do for a change....help!!!
Give me all your suggestions my wallet and I are listening!
